RESOLUTION NO.IOO A RESOLUTIC!: OF THE CITY PIAi'U'UNG COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RErOM~~IDING THE G~~T- rNG OF A ZONE VARIAlfCE AFFEf":TINO CERTAIN REAL PRO- PERTY IN SAID CITY TO PERMIT THE COHTINIJATIOU OF AN EXISTIIiG AUTOMOBILE 'LAUNDRY PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED. WHEREAS, on July 6, 1950, this City PIWkiinc Commif3~on adopted its Resoh.Lt1on No.29 where.!.n it reeomroended the granting of a V8:::'- iance to permit the real property located at 222 E. Runtin6ton Drive in said City to be used for an Automobile Laundry upon the conditions therein contained; and ilHEREAS, the r:lty Council of the City of Arcadia did on July 18, 1950, adopt its certain Resolution No.2050 where1:l .1nd whereby the fl..rld1ne:;s and recommendations of this Commission contained in its said Resolution No. 29 were adopted ~~d approved and a variance for an Automobile Laundry at 222 E. Huntington Drive in sa.id City tit was emnted upon the conditions contained in said Resolution No.2050; . and WHEREAS, on January 6, 1953, a petition was filed with this Comm1ssion by the lessees of the property hereina.fter described for the extens10n of the var1ance heretofore granted by said Resolution IITo.20.50j a.'ld WHERE/,SJ after notice required by Ordinance No.76o of the City of A~c8dia a public hearing on said request was held by and before this Comm.ission on the 27th day of January 1953, at which time all interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Commission Illl\ke the follOWing findings and reoommendations to the City Council of the . City of Arcadia: 1 - That there were no protests to the granting of said petition. 2 - That the only hardship alleged to result from the operation of the Automobile Laundry heretofore authorized is traffic con- gestion on Third Avenue reEulting from patrons of said Automobile Wash waiting their turn to be served. 3 - That experience has shown that an Automobile Hane':. Laundry as operated under the variance heretofore granted to pet1tioners, -1- 100 .' . . ing of the requested variance. . That for the foregoine reasons this Commission recommends to the City Council that the requested var1ance be denied. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this ~e. solution, and shall forward a copy of the same to the Clt~ Council at' the City of Arcadia. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted by the City Planning Commission at a regula!' meeting held on the 24th day of February, 1953, by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Anderson, Balser, Knopp, Pratt and Sorenson NOES: None ABSENT: Commissioners Berky and Danve .
