RESOLUTION NO.132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. CALIFORNIA, MAKING
CERTAIN FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS RELATIVE
TO THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF SECTION 15 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 760 OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17 of Ordinance NO.76O of the City
of Arcadia, the City Planning Commission of said City did, on August
11, 1953, pass, approve and adopt its certain Resolution No.117 en-
titled: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO INSTITUTE PROCEED-
INGS FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF AND MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING
THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 5-F AND SECTION 15, SUBDIVISION A, SUBSECTION
2, SUBDIVISION A, SUBPARAGRAPH 1 OF ORDINANCE NO.76O OF THE CITY OF'
ARCADIA,", pursuant to which notice was duly published and given and
publiC hearings dUly held on the 8th and 22nd days of September 1953,
... at which times all persons present and interested were given full
opportunity to be heard and to present evidence relative to the matter

of the propoaed am8ndment of Ordinance NO.760 of said City as provided
in said Resolution No.117; and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission haVing reviewed and tully con-
sidered all the evidence and testimony presented at said hearings
and reviewed the subject generally;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Planning Commission ot theCity of Arcadia
does hereby find, determine and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public necessity, convenience and general
welfare require and this Commission hereby recommends to theCity
Council of the City of Arcadia that Ordinance No.760 of said City
be amended in the following particulars:
SECTION l5-A-2-A-l. For dwellings there shall be at least one and
one-qaart~r (1;-) parking spaces on the same site as the ma1n building,
for each dwelling unit, and each of such parking spaces shall not be
less than 8 feet wide by 20 feet long with adequate provision for
egress and ingress. At least one such parking space for each dwell-
rooted
ing unit shall be in a garage 01'/ carport. A full parking space
shall be required 1n each instance where a fractional parking space
would otherwise be required by the terms hereof. Each such parking
space shall be located back of the required front yard.

B.1 amending Section 15 ot said Ordinance No.760 by adding to
Paragraph 1 of Sub-section A thereot a new sub-paragraph "E" to read
a

''(e )
For all office, commercial and industrial bUildings
at least one (1) parking apace shall be provided tor
each five hundred (500) square feet of floor space or
traction thereof. Each suoh parki"i space shall oontain
at least two hundred and fifty (250) square feet inoluding
adequate space for ingress and esress, and shall be on the
same lot or within five hundred (500) feet of the building.
Nothing in this Ordinance shall prohibit the.collective
use of space for off-street parking, proVided suoh
collectively used spaoe is equal to the sum of the re-
quirements of each individual establishment participat-
ing in suoh collective u~e.When the required otf-street
parking space is provided on a separate lot from the
main building, there shall b. recorded on the office
of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California,
a covenant of the owner or owners of said lot for the
benefit of the City of Arcadia to the eftect that Buch
owner or owners will continue to maintain suoh parking
space so long as said building is maintained."
and by amending Sub-paragraph D of Paragraph 2 of Sub-section a of
said Section 15 to read as follows:
"d. Penthouses or roof structures for the housing or
elevators, stairways, tanks, ventilating tans or similar
equipment required to operate abd maintain the buildings,
and fire or parapet walls, skylights, towers, roof Bigns,
(exoept in the C-l and C-2 Zones); flagpoles, chimneys,
smokestacks. wireless masts or similar struotures may be
erected above the height limits herein prescrited, but
no penthouses or roof struotures or any space above the
height limit shall be allowed for the purpose of providing
additional tloor space."
SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to this Resolution
and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the City Council of the
City or Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the
