RESOLUTION NO. 294
A RESOLUTION OF TFffi CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLAHING ITS INTENTION
TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
CONSIDERATION OF AND MAKING
RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE
RECLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN REAL
PRCPERTY IN SAID CITY TO ZONE D
(ARCHITECTURAL OVERLAY) IN ADDITION
TO THE BASIC ZONDJG APPLICABLE TO
SAID PROPERTY, AND ARCHITECTURAL
RESTRICTIONS TO BE IMPOSED THEREON
UNL~R SUCH ZONE D.

WHEREAS, Louise Avenue and LeRoy Avenue were recently
opened by condemnation proceedi~~s and are being improved under an
assessment distric,t; and,

WHEREAS, a tentative map of a proposed subdivision cov-
ering a portion of' the property has been approved by the City Plan-
ning Commisflion; and,
WHEREAS, there will probably be requests for dividing
other portions of property abutting said streets to create new lots;
and.
WHEREAS,. in the opinion of this Commission. consideration
should be given to the imposition of architectural controls upon the
property presentl:r being subdivided and upon property which may be
either included in a new subdivision or may be divided by lot splits
so as to influre the proper and harmonious development on an area
now available for development;

NOW, TFGREFORE. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the public health, convenience and gen-
eral welfare of t::le City of Arcadia and the inhabitants thereof re-
quire the consideration of and the institution of proceedings for

the purpose of conaidering and ma:.cing recommendations concerning
. the reclassification to Zone D (Architectural Design Zone), in
addition to the baaic zoning presently applicable to that certain
property abutting Louise Avenue and LeRoy Avenue in the City of
Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, state of California, described
as portions of LotH 6, 9 and 14, Arcadia Acreage Tract, as shown
on map recorded in Book 10, page 18, of Maps, in the office of the
County Recorder of said County, and for the purpose of considering
and making recommendations concerning the architectural restric-
tions that should be placed thereon under such Zone D. That Tues-
day, the 24th day of June, 1958, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.
in the Council Ch~lbers of the City Hall, 240 West Huntington
Drive, is hereby fixed and determined as the date, hour and place

SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and shall cause to be given notice of the date,
place and purpose of said hearing in the manner required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the
27th
day of May
, 1958, by the following vote:
