RESOLUTION NO. 234 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING cO~lrrSSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE MASONIC TEMPLE AS A PLACE OF OCCASIONAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING PARKING REQUIREMENTS THEREFOR. WHEREAS, there has been requestea a classification as to the parking requirements for the Masonic Temple in the City of Arcadia; and, WHEREAS, ambiguity exists concerning the appropriate classification of said Masonic Temple for the purpose of detel~in- ing off-street parking requirements therefor; and, WHEREAS, Section 15-A-I of Ordinance No. 760 provides in . part ". . If ambiguity arises concerning the appropriate classi- fication of a particular use within the meaning and intent of this Ordinance or with respect to area requirements . . . it shall be the duty of the City Planning Comnlission to ascertain all pertinent facts concerning said use and by resolution of record set forth its findings and the reasons therefor;" and, WliEREAS, at a regular meeting this Commission has ascer- tained the pertinent facts concerning the business for which classificatton has been requested; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia does hereby find, determine, resolve and recommend as follows: " 'I . SECTION 1. That the lVIasonic Temple is in fact a place of occasional ass~nbly, it being desinged primarily for lodge meet- inGS and is not a place of frequent assembly similar to theaters and -~ auditoriums. Tha~ therefore, the use of a Masonic Temple should, for the purpose of determining off-street par~~ng requirements, be classified as a place of occasional assembly for which at least one parking space for every eight seats provided in the main auditorium is required. -1- 234 .' . . : . SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Plannin~ Commission held on the 27th day of November , 1956, by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Balser, Robertson, Sorenson ana Vachon NOES: None ABSENT: CommisSioners Acker, Daly and Pratt ~~ . .~~ , 1alrman .
