RESOLUTION NO. 232 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNTh'G CO~waSSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS RELATIVE TO THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 760 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17 of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, the City Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia did on August .28, 1956, pass, approve and adopt its certain Resolution No. 230 entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COM- . HISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF AND MAKING RECOM- MENDATIONS CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 760 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA BY ADDING THERETO NEVI SECTIONS 10.1 AND 15.1, AND AMEND- ING SECTIONS 3 AND 11 AS MAY BE REQUIRED TO CONFORM WITH SAID NEW SECTIONS", pursuant to which notice was duly Ptlbl1shed and given and a public hearing duly held on the 25th day of Septembe~ 1956, at which time all persons present and interested were given a full op- portunity to be heard and to present evidence relative to the pro- posed amendment of Ordinance No. 760 of said City as provided in said Resolution No. 230; and, WHEREAS, said Planning Commission has fully reviewed and considered the subject generally; NOW, THEREFORE.. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND RECOMMEND AS FOLLOWS: . SECTION 1. That the public necessity, convenience and general welfare require, and this Commission hereby recommends to the City Council of the City of Arcadia, that Ordinance No. 760 of said City be amended in the following particulars to read as fol- lows: SECTION 2. That a new Section 12.1 be added, thereby -1- 232 . . creating a commercial manufacturing zone, establishing certain archi- tectural standards to be required in such zone, and specifying the uses to be permitted therein, said Section 10.1 to read as follows: . SECTION 10.1: "C-M" COMMERCIAL-MANUFACTURING ZONE. The following regulations shall apply in the "C-M" Com- mercial-Manufacturing Zone unless otherwise provided in this ordi- nance. Buildi~erected or structurally altered and used exclusively for dwelling purposes shall comply with the front, side, and rear yard regulations of the "R-3" Zone. A. USE. Any use permitted in the C-3 Zone m101esale business, storage buildings and warehouses Automobile laundry Bakery Boatbuilding if within a building Bottling plant Carpet cleaning plant Catering or commissary Cleaning and dyeing plant Electric or neon sign manufacture Equipment rental service with architectural approval Garment manufacture Laboratory, experimental, motion picture, testing Laundry, cash and carry, other than steam laundry Machine Shop (if restricted as to noise) Motion picture studio Rubber (only fabrication of products made from finished rubber) Textile manufacture . Tire rebuilding, recapping and retreading, within a building Accessory buildings and uses customarily incident to any of the above uses when located on the same lot Parking space (see Section 15) Other kinds of manufacture, processing or treatment of products other than those which may be obnoxious or of- fensive by reason of emission of odor, dust, smoke, gas, noise or other similar charaoteristics, including hazards, prOVided that the determination of the character of any use as defined in this item shall be arrived at as set forth in Section 15, paragraph A, Use, subpara- graph 1, General, Item "a". B. BUILDING HEIGHT. No building hereafter erected, constructed or established exceed four (4) stories or forty-five (43) feet. -2- 232 . . . C. FRONT YARD. Same as "C-3" Zone. D. SIDE YARD. Same as "C-3" Zone. E. REAR YARD. same as "C-3" Zone. F. LOT AREA PER FAMILY. Same as "C-3" Zone. SECTION 3. That a new Section 15.1 be added, prohibiting access acrosS mor,e restricted property to and from less restricted, the same to read as follows: SECTION 15.1. GENERAL PROVISIONS - ACCESS. No property in a more restricted zone shall be used for . ingress to or egress from property in a less restricted zone, other than for purposes permitted in such more restricted zone. SECTION 4. That Section 11 be amended as may be required to conform with such new Sections 10.1 and 15.1, the same to read as follows: SECTION 11: 11M_I" LIGHT MANUFACTURING ZONE. The following regulations shall apply in the "M_I" Light lllanufacturing Zone unless otherwise provided in this Ordinance. Buildingl erected or structurallY altered and used exclusively for dwelling purposes shall comply with the front, side, and rear yard regulations of the "R-3" Zone. A. USE. No building or land shall be used and no building shall . be hereafter erected, constructed or established except for one or more of the following uses: 1. Any use permitted in the "C-M" Zone 2. Automobile dismantling and used parts storage only \'lhen operated or maintained wholly within a building 3. Blacksmith Shop 4. Building material storage yard 5. Cabinet shop or furniture manufacture (Carpenter shop) 6. Cons tractor's plant or storage yard 7. Creamery 8. Fuel yard Food products manufacture for human consumption only Ice and cold storage plant Kennels, dog (4 or more adult dogs) Laundry Lumber yard Mill, planing Sheet metal shcp Shoe manufacture Soap manufacture (cold mix only) Stone manument works Storage warehouse storage space for transit and transportation equipment except freight classification yard Truck repairing and overhauling Veterinary hospital Accessory buildings and uses customarily incident to any of the above uses when location on the same lot Parking space (See Section 15) SECTION 5. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be for- warded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
