A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOlV"lMENDING THE DENIAL OF A VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A BEAUTY PARLOR AT 68 EAST NEWMAN AVENUE . WHEREAS, there was filed with this Commission on March 12, 1956, the application of Elmer H. and Dorothy M. Stegeman and Mario and Irene A. Delmonte, as owners, for a zone variance to permit a rear building on the following described property, to wit: Lot 34, Haven Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 13, pages 22 and 23, of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, located at 68 East Newman Avenue, to be used for a beauty salon; and, WHEREAS, after notice required by Ordinance No. 760 of said City, a public hearing was duly held on the matter by and before this . Commission on the lOth ,day of April, 1956, at which time all inter- ested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard and to pre- sent evidence; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION HEREBY DETER- MINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That in view of the numerous protests to the granting of the petition because of the location at the rear of the lot, drainage problems and increased traffic hazards, applicant re- quested that his application be withdrawn. SECTION 2. That for the foregoing reason, thiS Commis- sion recommends to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that the , variance requested above be denied, without prejudice to any subse- quent application therefor. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
