RESOLUTION NO. 208
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, RECO[~ING THE GRANTING
OF A VARIANCE TO PERMIT THE OPERATION
OF A DOCTOR I S OFFICE AT 141 WEST LAS
TUNAS DRIVE.
WHEREAS, there was filed with this Commission on Octo-
ber 28, 1955, the petition of Dr. R. H. Jones, as owner, for a zone
variance to permit the following desoribed property, to wit:
Lot 30, Traot No. 13540, as shown on map recorded
in Book 277, pages l1 and 12, of Maps, in the
offioe of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County J
located at 14l West Las Tunas Drive, to be used for the conduot of
a dootor's officej and,
~lliEREAS, after notice required by Ordinance No. 760 of
said City, a public hearing was duly held on the matter by and before
this Commission on the 22nd day of November, 1955, at which time all
interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard and to
present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING CmlMISSION HEREBY DETER-
MINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That there were no protests to the granting of
said petition, but there were both written and oral expressions in
favor of the granting of said petition.
SECTION 2. That subject property is in Zone R-3 which for-
merly allowed medical offioes; that property aCross the street is
zoned for oommercial useSj and that subject property is no longer
particularly desirable for residential uses.
SECTION 3. That the granting of a variance as hereinafter
recommended is neoessary for the preservation of substantial prop-
erty rights of the applicant, and will not be inoonsistent with
good planning practice, nor with the provisions of the master zoning

plan, nor with the present or prospective development of the neigh-
4It borhood in which the property is located.
SECTION 4. That for the foregoing reasons, this Conun1s-
sion recommends to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that a
variance be granted to permit Lot 30, Tract No. l3540, to be used
for the conduct of a medical office.

SECTION 5. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the
City Counoil of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the
lOth day of January , 1956, by the following vote:

NOES: COIIlII11ssioners Balser, Sorenson and Vachon
