HomeMy WebLinkAbout0207 < . . . RESOLUTION NO. 207 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TEE RECLASSIFICATION OF REAL PROPERTY ON HUNTINGTON DRIVE, BETWEEN THIRD AVENUE AND FOURTH AVENUE, FROM ZONE R-3 TO ZONE C-2. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND RECOMMEND AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That there was filed with this Commission on . Octobe~ 7, 1955, the petition of Manuel and Lee Maler, requesting the reolassification from Zone R-3 to Zone C-2 of portions of Lot 3, Tract No. 5205; that on the 11th day of October, 1955, this Commission adopted its Resolution No. 206. whereby it instituted on its own motion proceedings for and in consideration of making recom- mendations concerning the reclassification from Zone R-3 to Zone 0-2 of the following desoribed property: All those portions of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Tract No. 5205, lying north of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad right of way, except the northerly 150 feet thereof, as recorded in Map Book 54, page 61, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, pursuant to each of which, after notice as required by law, a pub- lic hearing was held by and before this Commission on November 8, 1955, at which time all interested persons were given full opportu- nity to be heard and to present evidence. SECTION 2. ' That while there were numerous protests, both . written and oral, against the proposed reclassification, there were both communications and verbal expressions in favor of said reclassi- fication, and that said protests were from owners whose property would not be materially affected by the proposed reclassifioation. SECTION 3. That property fronting on Huntington Drive abutting subject property on the north has been zoned for -1- 207 . . cOl1Dllercial uses for some time in the past; that R-3 property be- . hind conunercial property, and particularly between commercial prop- erty and a railroad track is not desirable for residential uses and is not accessible except through the oommercial frontage. SECTION 4. That for the foregoing reasons, this COl1Dllis- sion recommends to the City Council that the above described prop- erty be reolassified and placed in Zone C-2. That said reclassifi- . cation of each piece of property be subject to the dedication of an alley at least twenty (20) feet in width along the rear of each said piece of property, and that such alley have a sufficient turnaround at the east end or a connection to Fourth Avenue, and that proper provisions for drainage be made. SECTION 5. The Seoretary shall certify to the adoption ~ of th1s Resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Planning Conunission held on the 13th day of December , 1955, by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Acker, Balser, Daly, Pratt, Robertson, Sorenson and Vachon NOES: None ABSENT: None .
