RESOLUTION NO. 196
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY. OF ARCADIA#
CALIFORNIA# MAKING CERl'AIN FINDINGS
AND BECOMr4BNDATIONS RELATIVE TO THE
PROPOSED AMBNDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO.
760 OF THE CITY QF ARCADIA.
WBEREAS# pursuant to Section 17 ot Ord1nance No. 760 of
the City of Arcad1a# the City Plann1ng Commission of the City of
Arcad1a d1d# on Aprll 26# 1955# pass# approve and adopt its certa1n
Resolution No. 187 entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CIft PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIAj CALD'ORNIAj DECLARING ITS INTEN-
TION TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF AND MAKING
RECOMl'4ENDATIONS CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 4 AND 5 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 760 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA", pursuant to which notice
was duly publ1shed and given and a public hearing duly held on
the 24th day of May# 1955# at which time all persons present and
interested were given a tull opportunity to be heard and to present
eV1dence relative to the proposed amendment of Ord.1nance No. 760 ot
said City as provided in sa1d Resolution No. 187; and#
WHEREAS, said Planning COlIIDI1ssion has tully reV1ewed and
considered the subject generally;
NOW. THBREFORE# the City Planning Commission of the City
of Arcad1a# California, does hereby t1nd# determine, resolve and
recOllllllend as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public necessity, oonvenience and
general welfare requ1re# and this Commission hereby recOIIlIIlends to
the City Councll of the City of Arcad1a# that Ordinance No. 760 of
sa1d City be amended in the following partioulars to read as fol-
lows:
That SECTION 4-A-3 be amended to read as follows:
3. The follOWing unlighted signs located not nearer than
ten (10) teet to the adjoining premises nor nearer than five (5)
teet to a street line.

a. One (1) sign of not to exceed one (1) square foot in
area and conta1n1ng only the name of the occupant;
b. One (1) sign of not to exceed four (4) square feet in
area advertising products raised on the premises;
c. One (1) sign of not to exceed four (4) square feet in
area advertising the premises for sale, lease or rent;
d. Temporary signs of not to exceed four (4) square feet
in area giving the names of the contractors, engineers and
architects during the period of construction on the premises;
e. Two (2) temporary signs of not to exceed thirty-two
(32) square feet in area each, advertising the property for
sale, erected and maintained in a new subdivision during the
period an active sales campaign is being conducted for such
subdivision, but in no event for a period longer than six (6)
months.

No other advertising signs, structures or devices of any character
shall be permitted in any DR_OD Pirst One-Pamily Zone.
That SECTION 5-A-l be amended to read as follows:
1. Any use permitted in the DR_OD Pirst One-Pamily Zone;
one family dwellings of a permanent character placed in permanent
locations; private garages; carports.
SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be for-
warded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the CityPlaPn1ng Commission held on the
28th day of June, 1955. by the fOllowing vote:
AYES: Commissioners Acker, Balser, Daly, Pratt, Robertson,
Sorenson and Vachon
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
