RESOLUTION NO. 187
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS ITENTION
TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE
CONSIDERATION OF AND MAKING RECOM-
MENDATIONS CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT
OF SECTIONS 4 AND 5 OF ORDINANCE NO.
760 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES
HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That the publiC health, conventence and wel-
fare of the City of Arcadia and the inhabitants thereof require the
consideration of and the institution of proceedings relative to the
amendment of Sections 4 and 5 of Ordinance No. 760 of the C.i ty of
Arcadia.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to authority vested in it by law,
that this Commission does hereby institute proceedings for the pur-
pose of conSidering and making recommendations to the City Council
concerning the amendment of said Ordinance No. 760 substantially as
follows: That Subsection A-3 of Section 4 of said Ordinance No.
760 be amended to read as follows:
3. The following unlighted signs located not nearer than
ten (10) feet to adjoining premises nor nearer than five (5) feet
to a street line:
a. One (1) stgn of not to exceed one (1) foot in area
,
and containing only the name of the occupant;
b. One (1) sign of not to exceed four (4) square feet
in area advertising products raised on the premises;
c. One (1) sign of not to exceed four (4) square feet
in area advertising the premises for sale, lease or rent.
d. Temporary signs of not to exceed four (4) square
feet in area giving the names of the contractors, engineers
and architects during construction period;

and that Subsection A-I of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 760 be amended

to read as follows:
1. Any use permitted in the "R-O" First One-Family Zone;
one-family dwellings of a permanent character placed in permanent
locations; private garages; carports.
SECTION 3. That Tuesday, the 24th day of May, 1955, at
the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, is hereby
fixed and determined as the day, hour and place of a public hearing
for the consideration of said matters and hearing and receiving
testimony and evidence pertaining thereto.
SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution and shall cause to be published notice of the date,
. place and purpose of said hearing in the manner required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the
26th day of April, 1955, by the following vote:
AYES: Commissionerl:l Acker, Bals~r, Daly, Robertson,
Sorenson and Vachon
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioner Pratt
