A RESQL17!ION OF THE CITY PLAllNING CQMMiSSION QF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMEND:rnG
THE EXTENSION OF AN EXISTING VARIANCE AFFECTING
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY
il:l1JS.tU!iAS, there was tiled with this Commission the petition of
Harold J. and Graoe C. Paoker, as owners, for the extension of an exieting
variance to permit the addition of a wing to the existing struoture, located
upon the following desoribed property.
Part of lot I, Tract No. 949, as shawn on map reoorded
in Book 17, page 13, of Maps, reoords of Los Angeles
County, desoribed as follows.

Commenoing on the south line of Colorado Boulevar~
602.83 feet west from the northwest oorner of lot 30.,
Tract No. 14745; thence west on the south line of Colo-
rado Boulevard 290.0.4 feet; thence BOuth 290~9'45. east
386.26 feetJ thence north l7041'40~ east 235.47 feet to
-the point of beginning;
being property located at 260. West Colorado Boulevard at its intersection
with Colorado Plaoe; and.
\mEREAS. af'ter notioe as required by Ordinance No. 760. of said oity.
lr public hearing was duly held by and before this Commission on the 24th day
at August. 1954. at which time all interested persons were given full opportunity
to be heard and to present evidenoe;
NOI'i, THEREFQRE, The City Planning Commission does hereby determine and
resolve as follows.
SECTIQN 1. That there were no protests to the granting of the re-
quested variance.
SECTIQN 2. That the requested variance is for the purpose of in-
. creasiDg the inside use of the prEllllises for the business already lawfully con-
ducted thereon and lessening the outside use at said premises for the SIllll6
purpose. That the oiroUll1Btances and conditions heretofore exillting at the time
of the granting of the variance under Ordinanoe No. 746 of the City of Aroadia,
af'feotiDg said premises remain substantially the same today. That the granting
of the requested varianoe is reasonably neoessary for the preservation and

enjoyment of the substantial property rights of the applioant in that the busi-
ness lawfully oonduoted thereon oan better be served indoors than outdoors.
That the granting of the requested varianoe will not be materially detrimental
to the publio welfare or injurious to the property or improvements in the vioinity
and zone but rather will be benefioial thereto in that the varianoe will permit
the further improvement of 1;he property wi 1;hout oreating any new uses thereof.
That the grantiDg of 'the varianoe will not affeot 'the comprehensive general
plan in that it will not au1;horize any new use of the subjeot premises.
SECTION 3'. That for the foregoing reasons this Collllllission recommends
to the City Ccunoil that 1;he requested varianoe be granted on oondition that the
existing chuok wagon and storage shed, eaoh in violation of exis'ting regula-
tions, be permanently removed.
SECTION 4. The Seoretary shall oertify to the adoption of 1;his Reso-
lution and shall oause a oopy to be forwarded to the City Counoil of the City
of AToadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the forego,ing Resolution was adopted at a regu-
lar meeting of the City Planning Conmdssion held on.1;he 14th day of September,
1954, by the following vote.
AYES. Commissioners Balser, Daly, Knopp, Pratt and Robertson
NOES: None
ABSENT: COIJlIlliasioners Anderson and Sorenson
