RESOLUTION NO. 446
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE AMENDMENT
OF SECTION 9255.2.8 OF THE ARCADIA
MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING REQUIRED
PARKING SPACES IN ZONE R-3.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Division 3 of Part 9 of Chapter 2
of Article IX of the Arcadia Municipal Code, the City Planning
Comm~ission of the City of Arcadia did, on March 27, 1962, pass,
approve and adopt its certain Resolution No. 443 entitled "A
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING
. AND MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION
9255.2.8 ~~D OTHER RELATED SECTIONS OF THE ARCADIA MUNICIPAL CODE
BY INCREASING THE OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS IN ZONE R-3,"
pursuant to which notice was duly publiShed and given and a publiC
hearing duly held on the 24th day of April, 1962, which hearing
was duly continued to May 8, 1962, at each of which times all
interested persons were given a full opportunity to be heard and
to present evidence relative to such proposed amendment of the
Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission has fUlly reviewed and
considered the subject generally;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE
. AND RECOMMEND AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public necessity, convenience and
general welfare reQuire, and this Commission hereby recommends to
the City Council of the City of Arcadia, that the Arcadia Municipal
Code be amended by amending Section 9255.2.8 to read as follows:

9255.2.8. PARKING REQUIREMENTS. At least two (2) park-
ing spaces, one of which shall be in a roofed carport or garage,
shall be provided on the same site for each dwelling unit. Each
such parking space shall be located back of the required front
yard and shall be paved with asphaltic or cem~nt concrete. Each
such parking space shall contain a gross area not less than ten (10)
feet wide and twenty (20) feet long, and shall have adequate indi-
vidual access including a turning radius of not less than twenty-
five (25) feet. No portion of a required driveway may be used to
fulfill any such parking space requirements.
SECTION 2. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be forwarded
to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Plarnling Commission held on the
22nd day of May, 1962, by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Ferguson, Forman, Michler,
Rutherford and Golisch
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioners Acker and Norton
