RESOLUTION NO. 422 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DENYING THE REQUEST FOR MODIFICATION OF SIGN REQUIREMENTS FOR REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 210-212 EAST DUARTE ROAD IN SAID CITY. WHEREAS, there was filed with the Modification Committee of the City of Arcadia on August 17, 1961, the application of D A R . i . Industrial Leasing Co. for a modification of .sign reql,tirements to allow the erection of a pole sign at the front of the new building on property at 210-212 East Duarte Road in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: The West 50 feet of the East 100 feet of Lot 33, Tract No. 808, excepting the South 120 feet: thereof, as shown on map recorded in Book 16 of Maps, pages 82 and 83, in the office of the County Recorder of said County; and, WHEREAS, after due notice as required by the Zoning Ordi- nance of said City, a public hearing was duly held on the matter I by and before the Modification Committee on Tuesday, :;>eptember 12,. 1961, at the close of which hearing, after due consideration, the Modification Committee denied said application for modification; and, . WHEREAS, on September 20, 1961, said applicant filed with the Department of Planning of the City of Arcadia an appeal from the Modification Committee's said decision; and, WHEREAS, such appeal from said decision was duly heard by and before this Commission on the 28th day of September, 1961, at each of which times all interested persons were given full I opportunity to be heard and to present evidence; -1- 422 v . . . NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION HEREBY DETER- MINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That subject property is present~y zoned C-l; that the proposed pole would extend fifteen feet above the parapet wall of the existing building, and would contain three signs with I a total of approximately 55 square feet of sign area contrary to the provisions of Section 9262.2.9 of the Arcadia Municipal Code regulating signs in the C-l Zone. That the existing building is already equipped with signs advertising the businesses: conducted I therein in conformity with'the requirements of the C-:ll Zone. That it has not been shown that any modification of the existing sign regulations is necessary to secure an appropriate improvement of - , . the property. SECTION 2. That for the foregoing reasons, ~his Commis- sion here?y affirms the decision of the Modification Committee and . ' I denies the requested modification of sign regulations to allow the - " , erection of a pole sign on the above described property. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
