RESOLUTION NO. 389 A RESOLUTION OF Trill CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TERMINATION OF THE PROCEEDINGS INSTITUTED BY AND PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 372. THE CITY PLANNING OOMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That on April 12, 1960, this Commission adopted its certain Resolution No. 372, entitled "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY . PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO INSTITUTE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING AND MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 760 BY AMENDING SECTIONS 15 AND 16 THEREOF AND ANY OTHER PERTINENT SECTIONS TO PERMIT STRUCTURAL ALTERATIONS OF AND ADDITIONS TO NON- CONFORMING BUILDINGS UNDER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS AND TO PERMIT THE MODIFICATION COMMITTEE TO GRANT MINOR MODIFICATIONS OF T}ffi PARKING REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE THERETO", wherein and whereby it instituted . on its own motion proceedings for the purpose of making findings and recommendations concerning the amendment of Ordinance No. 760 by amending Sections 15 and 16 thereof, and any other pertinent sections to permit structural alterations of and additions to non-conforming buildings under specified conditions and to permit the Modification Committee to grant minor modifications of the parking requirements applicable thereto, pursuant to which a public hearing was held thereon on April 26, 1960, which hearing was duly continued from time to time to and including September 27, 1960. SECTION 2. That although problems exist in portions of the City resulting in large part rrom the application of regulations concerning yard requirements, off-street parking and parking access, many of which were enacted subsequent to the construction of build- in such portions of the City; that such regulations for the -1- 389 ~ . . . most part constitute good zoning practice and their amendment to 4It provide relief for specific portions of the City will undermine the entire regulatory structure with respect to the balance of the City. That the problem areas can better be dealt with by the granting of variances for the respective areas rather than by the amendment of the regulations themselves. SECTION 3, That for the foregoing reasons this Commis- sion recommends that no amendments to Ordinance No. 760 be made as a result of the proceedings instituted by this Commission under or pursuant to its said Resolution No. 372, and that the proceedings instituted by its said Resolution No. 372 be terminated. . SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to tne adoption of this resolution ~ld shall cause a copy of the same to be forwarded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
