RESOLUTION NO. 388 A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY PLANNING COMr>'1ISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFOm~IA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING EVIDENCE, CONSIDERING AND MAKING DETERMINATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE RECLASSIFICATION FROM ZONE R-l TO ZONE M-2 OR TO SOME !.lORE RESTRICTIVE ZONE OF THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF ARCADIA LYING EAST OF PECK ROAD, AND TO RECEIVE EVIDENCE, CONSIDER AND MAKE DETERMINATIONS AND RECO~~ENDATIONS CONCERNING THE GRANTING OF SPECIAL USE PERMITS FOR A RIDING ACADEMY, THE DEVELOPMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND OTHER USES EXISTING OR PROPOSED THEREON. . WHEREAS, the annexation to the City of Arcadia of terri- tory designated as Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited Annexation No. 15 was completed on December 24, 1956; and, WHEREAS, Section 3, Subsection,D-2 of Ordinance No. 760 . of the City of Arcadia, as amended, provides that all property annexed to the City of Arcadia and not otherwise classified concur- rently with its annexation is classified and placed in Zone R-l; and, WHEREAS, no portion of said territory was reclassified concurrently witn its annexation to the City of Arcadia; and, WHEREAS, most of the present uses of the properties within aforesaid territory annexed to the City of Arcadia as well as the improvements constructed thereon are for uses and designed for pur- poses other than those specified as permissible in Zone R-l of aforesaid Ordinance No, 760, as amended, and accordingly are nonconforming under aforesaid Ordinance No. 760; nor are the properties and the improve- ments suitable for R-l uses; and, WHEREAS, only a part of the property annexed to the City of Arcadia as Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited Annexation No. 15 has been rezoned from Zone R-l; and, WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Commission consideration should be given the reclassification of the rest of the property -1- 388 .., . . . annexed to the City of Arcadia as Southeast Arcadia Uninhabited Annexation No. 15 from Zone R-l to Zone M-2 or to some Zone more . restrictive than M-2, and to the granting of special use permits for nonconforming uses now existing thereon; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETEm~INE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. That the public health, convenience and general welfare of the City of Arcadia and the inhabitants thereof require the consideration of and the institution of proceedings for tne purpose of considering and making recommendations concern- ing the reclassification from Zone R-l to Zone M-2 or some more restrictive zone of the following property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, lying east of Peck Road and south of Arrow Highway, to wit: Lot 371 through Lot 532, inclusive; Lot 613 through Lot 776, inclusive; Lot 1010 through Lot 1019, inclusive; Lot 1252 through Lot 1261, inclusive; Lot 1487 through Lot 1496, inclusive; Lot 1720 through Lot 1729, inclusive; Lot 1952 through Lot 1961, inclusive; Lot 2183 through Lot 2192, inclusive; and Lot E; Chicago Park, as shown on map recorded in Book 30, page 100, of Miscellaneous Records in the office of the Recorder of said County. SECTION 2. That the publiC health, convenience and gen- eral welfare of the City of Arcadia and the inhabitants thereof require the consideration of and the making of recommendations concerning the granting of special use permits for the development of natural resources, for a riding academy and for other noncon- ~ forming uses now existing or proposed on the property hereinabove described. SECTION 3. That the City Planning Commission does hereby, on its own motion, institute proceedings for said purposes. -2- ,- 388 ...... ,,~. . . . That Wednesday, October 26, 1960, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock, p.m., in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, is hereby fixed and determined as the date, hour and place of the hearing for the consideration of such matters and for the purpose of receiving all proper evidence and testimony relevant thereto. SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause to be given notice of the date, place and purpose of said hearing in the manner required by law. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the 11th day of October , 1960, by 'the following vote: .
