RESOLUTION NO. 377 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING AND MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE REESTABLISHING IN ZONE R-l AND THE RECLASSIFYING TO SOME LESS RESTRICTIVE RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL ZONE THE PROPERTIES INCLUDED IN "WEST ARCADIA ANNEXATION NO. 14" AND FIXING THE DATE, HOUR AND PLACE OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD FOR SUCH PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Subsection D-2 of Section 3 of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, as amended, provides that all property an- nexed to the City of Arcadia and not otherwise classified concur- rently with its annexation is classified and placed in Zone R-l; and, . WHEREAS, the annexation to the City of Arcadia of terri- tory designated as "West Arcadia Annexation No. 14" was completed on December 20, 1955, and no portion of said territory was reclassi- fied concurrently with its annexation to the City of Arcadia; and, WHEREAS, after hearings duly held before this Commission and the City Council, said City Council did on April 3, 1956, by and under Ordinance No. 954, make findings and determinations rela- tive to the reestablishment in Zone R-l of certain properties in "West Arcadia Annexation No. 14" and the reclassification to Zones C-I and PR-3 of other properties in said annexation upon the ful- fillment of certain requirements of street and alley dedications and the filing of certain specified covenants; and, . WHEREAS, over four years have since elapsed and none of the said requirements have been met; and, WHEREAS, after proceedings duly instituted and hearings duly held before this Commission in December, 1959 and January and -1- 377 ., .. , . . February, 1960, this Commission did on February 23, 1960, adopt ~ its certain Resolution No. 362, making certain findings and recom- mendations regarding the proper zoning for the property in said "West Arcadia Annexation No. 14", after which a hearing was duly held before the City Council on April 5, 1960; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia did, on May 3, 1960, determine that the properties included within said "West Arcadia Annexation No. 14" required further proceedings and stUdy before the City Council could make a proper decision on the reclassification thereof, and did thereupon refer the matter back to this Commission for further proceedings; . NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the pUblic health, convenience and gen- eral welfare of the City of Arcadia and the inhabitants thereof require the consideration of, and the institution of further pro- ceedings for the purpose of considering, receiving additional evi- dence and making recommendations concerning the reestablishment in Zone R-l and the reclassification from Zone R-l to some less restrictive residential or commercial zone of the properties con- tained in aforesaid "West Arcadia Annexation No. 14", in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and bounded and described as follows: . Lots 1 and 17, Tract No. 19681, as shown on map recorded in Book 511, pages 26 and 27, of Maps, and those portions of Lots 1, 4 and 5, Block G, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, included within the following described exterior boundary line: Beginning at the intersection of the west line of Baldwin Avenue (55 feet wide) with the south line of the north half of Lot 5, Block G, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract; thence westerly along said south line to the southeast corner of Lot I, Tract No. 19681; thence northerly along the east line of -2- 377 f' . . , . . . . Lots 1 and 17 of said Tract No. 19681 to the north- east corner of said Lot 17; thence westerly along the northerly line of said Tract No. 19681 to the westerly line of said Lot 4, Block G, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract; thence northerly along the westerly line of said Lot 4 to the northwesterly corner thereof; thence easterly along the northerly line of said Lot 4 a distance of 396 feet; thence northerly parallel with the westerly line of Lot 1, Block G, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract to the northerly line of said Lot I; thence easterly along said northerly line to the westerly line of Baldwin Avenue; thence southerly thereon to the point of beginning. . SECTION 2. That the City Planning Commission does hereby, on its own motion, institute proceedings for said purposes. That Tuesday, July 12, 1960, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Ar- cadia, California, is hereby fixed and determined as the date, hour and place of the hearing for the consideration of such matters and for the purpose of receiving all proper evidence and testimony relevant thereto. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause to be given notice of the date, place and purpose of said hearing in the manner required by law. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foreoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the 14th day of June, 1960, by the following vote: , AYES: Commissioners Acker, Forman, Golisch, Michler, Norton and Stout NOES: None .
