RESOLUTION NO. 364
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COI1MISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE
REESTABLISHMENT IN ZONE R-l AND
THE RECLASSIFICATION TO ZONES R-2,
P AND C-2 OF THAT PORTION OF
ANNEXATION NO. 17-A, SOUTHWEST
ARCADIA INHABITED, LYING NORTH OF
LEMON AVENUE BUT NOT FRONTING ON
DUARTE ROAD, AND PRESENTLY ZONED
R-l BY REASON OF ITS ANNEXATION TO
SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Annexation Act of 19l3, the City
Council did, by Ordinance No. l053, adopted April 7, 1959, annex
certain territory on the west and southwest boundaries of the City
of Arcadia designated as "Annexation No. l7-A, Southwest Arcadia
Inhabited"; and,

WHEP~AS, Section 3, Subsection D-2 of Ordinance No. 760
of the City of Arcadia, as amended, provides that all property an-
nexed to the City of Arcadia and not otherwise classified concur-
rently with its annexation shall be classified and placed in Zone
R-1; and,
WHEREAS, the properties within aforesaid territory desig-
nated as "Annexation No. 17-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabited" were
not otherwise classified concurrently with the annexation thereof
to the City of Arcadia; and,
WHEREAS, after proceedings duly instituted and public
hearings duly held by and before this Commission and the City Coun-

ci1, after due notice as required by law, the City Council on Janu-
ary 19, 1960, by Ordinance No. 1072, did establish zoning for prop-
erty in said Annexation No. 17-A lying south of Lemon Avenue; and,
vffiEREAS, this Commission did on its own motion, under and
pursuant to Resolution No. 353, adopted November 10, 1959, institute

proceedings for the consideration of and making recommendations con-
cerning the reclassification of that portion of said Annexation No.
l7-A lying north of Lemon Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, after notice as required by Ordinance No. 760 of
said City, as amended, a public hearing was duly held on the matter
by and before this Commission on the 8th day of December, 1959, which
hearing was duly continued to January 12, 1960, again continued to
January 26, 1960, and still further continued to February 9, 1960,
at each of which times all interested persons were given a full op-
portunity to be heard and to present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION HEREBY DETER-
MINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION l. That the following property in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, should be reestablished as prop-
erty in Zone R-1:
Lot 8 and the southerly 165 feet of Lot 5,
Block G, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as
shown on map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of
Maps, records of said County, except the
southerly 175 feet of the easterly 234 feet
of said Lot 8;
Lots 2 to 16, inclusive, Tract No. 1968l, as
shown on map recorded in Book 51l, pages 26
and 27, of Maps, records of said County; and
Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, Tract No. 19413, as
shown on map recorded in Book 492, pages 4
and 5, of Maps, records of said County.
SECTION 2. That the following property in the County of

Los Angeles, State of California, should be rezoned and established
as property in Zone R-2:
The southerl~ 175 feet of the easterly 234
feet of Lot 8; and the westerly 396 feet of
Lot 1, Block G, Santa Anita Land Company's
Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 6,
page l37, of Maps, records of said County;

The westerly 90 feet of Lot 8, and the easterly
239.14 feet of the westerly 329.14 feet of the
southerly 176.l feet of Lot 8; the easterly 264
feet of Lot 7; the easterly 249 feet of Lot 6;
the westerly 363 feet of Lot 5; and the easterly
252 feet of Lot 3, Block A, Santa Anita Land
Company's Tract, as shown on map recorded in
Book 6, page 137, of Maps, records of said
County; and
The westerly 244.77 feet of Lot 2, Santa Anita
Land Company's Pumping Plant No.1 Tract, as
shown on map recorded in Book 10, page 183, of
Maps, records of said County.
SECTION 3. That the following property in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, should be rezoned and established
in Zone P as well as Zone R-2:
The easterly 99 feet of the westerly 363 feet of
Lot 5, Block A, Santa Anita Land Company.s Tract,
as shown on map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of
Maps, records of said County.

SECTION 4. That the following property in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, should be rezoned and established
as property in Zone C-2:
Lots 22 and 23, Tract No. 6925, as shown on map
recorded in Book 74, page 79, of Maps, records
of said County.
SECTION 5. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be forwarded
to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the
23rd day of February, 1960, by the following vote:
