RESOLUTION NO. 363 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RECOI~DING THE RECLASSIFICATION TO ZONE R-3 AND ZONE C-2 OF ALL THAT PROPERTY IN THE NORTHERN PORTION OF ANNEXATION NO. 17-A, SOUTHWEST ARCADIA INHABITED, FRONTING ON DUARTE ROAD, AND PRESENTLY ZONED R-1 BY REASON OF ITS ANNEXATION TO SAID CITY. WHEREAS, pursuant to the Annexation Act of 1913, the City Council did, by Ordinance No. 1053, adopted April 7, 1959, annex certain territory on the west and southwest boundaries of the City of Arcadia designated as "Annexation No. 17-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabi ted" ; and, . wtlliREAS, Section 3, Subsection D-2 of Ordinance No. 760 of the City of Arcadia, as amended, provides that all property an- nexed to the City of Arcadia and not otherwise classified concur- rently with its annexation shall be classified and placed in Zone R-l; and, WHEREAS, the properties within aforesaid territory desig- nated as "Annexation No. l7-A, Southwest Arcadia Inhabited" were not otherwise classified concurrently with the annexation thereof to the City of Arcadia; and, WHEREAS, after proceedings duly instituted and public hear- ings duly held by and before this Commission and the City Council, after due notice as required by law, the City Council on January 19, . 1960, by Ordinance No. 1072, did establish zoning for property in said Annexation No. 17-A lying south of Lemon Avenue; and, vlliEREAS, this Co~nission did on its own motion, under and pursuant to Resolution No. 353, adopted November 10, 1959, institute -1- 363 ; . . . . . . proceedings for the consideration of and making recommendations con- cerning the reclassification of that portion of said Annexation No. 17-A lying north of Lemon Avenue; and, v~AS, after notice as required by Ordinance No. 760 of said City, as amended, a public hearing was duly held on the matter by and before this Commission on the 8th day of December, 1959, which hearing was duly continued to January 12, 1960, again continued to January 26, 1960, and still further continued to February 9, 1960, at each of which times all interested persons were given a full op- portunity to be heard and to present evidence; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION HEREBY DETER- IVJINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the following property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, should be established as property in Zone R-3: All of Lot 2, Block A, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of Maps, records of said County, excepting therefrom that portion beginning at the north- westerly corner thereof; thence southerly along the westerly line of said lot 78 feet; thence easterly parallel with the north line of said lot 63.43 feet; thence southerly parallel with the westerly line of said lot 22 feet; thence easterly parallel with the northerly line of said lot 62 feet; thence northerly parallel with the westerly line of said lot lOO feet to the north- erly line of said lot; thence westerly thereon 125.43 feet to the point of beginning; All of Lot 1, excepting therefrom the northerly 125 feet of the easterly 240.0l feet thereof; and all of Lot 2, excepting therefrom the southerly 10.23 feet of the westerly 300 feet thereof; Block B, said Santa Anita Land Company's Tract; All of Lot 1 and the easterly 203.685 feet of Lot 2, Block C, said Santa Anita Land Company's Tract. SECTION 2. That the following property in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, should be established as property in Zone C-2: -2- 363 . . . .,,! ,~. ~ ., . . .. That portion of Lot 2, Block A, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract, as shown on map recorded in Book 6, page 137, of Maps, records of said County, de- scribed as follows: Beginning at the northwesterly corner of said Lot 2, thence southerly along the westerly line of said lot 78 feet; thence easterly parallel with the north line of said lot 63.43 feet; thence southerly . parallel with the westerly line of said lot 22 feet; thence easterly parallel with the northerly line of said lot 62 feet; thence northerly parallel with the westerly line of said lot 100 feet to the north- erly line of said lot; thence westerly thereon 125.43 feet to the point of beginning; and The northerly~5 feet of the easterly 240.01 feet of Lot l, Block B, Santa Anita Land Company's Tract. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be forwarded to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
