RESOLUTION NO. 7465 AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-23
EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT PROGRAM BUDGET AUTHORIZING A
SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR THE UPFITTING OF
ONE 2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE PICKUP
TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT OF $92,000, OFFSET BY A REDUCTION IN
THE EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT RESERVE FUND, AND
APPROVING A PURCHASE ORDER WITH 911VEHICLE.COM., INC.
FOR THE UPFITTING OF ONE 2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO FOUR-
WHEEL DRIVE PICKUP TRUCK IN THE AMOUNT OF $142,300.
WHEREAS, during Fiscal Year 2021-22, a fire suppression command vehicle
Battalion 705 (Asset No. 80247) experienced an engine bay fire which resulted in
irreversible damage to the entire vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the unexpected damages requiring the replacement, purchase, and
acquisition of a vehicle chassis and the upfitting and installation of a command
conversion package resulted in unanticipated expenses that were not covered in the
Fiscal Year 2022-23 Equipment Replacement Program Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City's insurance provider authorized a claim payout of
$111,462.42 for the replacement, purchase, and acquisition of a new vehicle chassis
and the upfitting and installation of a command conversion package; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on September 21, 2021, regular City Council
meeting approved and adopted Resolution No. 7388 authorizing the purchase of one
new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado four-wheel drive pickup in the amount of $59,324.62; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on September 21, 2021, regular City Council
meeting approved and adopted Resolution No. 7388 authorizing the total supplemental
budget appropriation for both the purchase and upfitting of the fire command vehicle in
the total amount of $111,462.42; and

WHEREAS, the complete cost for the upfitting of the fire command vehicle is
$142,300.00, far exceeding the $52,137.80 remaining from the insurance claim payout;
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has certified that there are sufficient reserves
available in the Equipment Reserve for appropriation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The sum of Ninety -Two Thousand Dollars ($92,000) is hereby
appropriated in the Fire Department budget, offset by an equal reduction in the General
Fund Reserve.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
