RESOLUTION NO. 1000
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA RECOMMENDING A ZONE
CHANGE FROM R-2 to R-l 12,500 FOR LONGLEY
WAY SCHOOL AT 2601 SOUTH LONGLEY WAY.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on July 26, 1977 for
the purpose of considering changing the zoning from R-2 to R-l,
12,500 for the property located at 2601 South Longley Way, more
particularly described as follows:
Lots 67-78, inclusive, Tract 13188, as recorded on
Map 266, pages 1, 2 and 3, in the office of the
Recorder of Los Angeles County.
WHEREAS, all interested persons were given full oppor-
tunity to be heard and to present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA HEREBY DETERMINES fu~D RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the factual data submitted by the Plan-
ning Department in the attached staff report is true and correct.
SECTION 2. That the Planning Commission recommends to
the City Council that the zoning on the above described property
be changed from R-2 to R-l 12,500 Second One Family Zone.
SECTION 3. That the Planning Commission finds that the
proposed change would provide uniform zoning within the area and
that the public convenionce, necessity and general welfare justify
the above zone change.
SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

The proposed zone change would not affect the existing school
uses.

Pursuant to the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act, the Planning Department has prepared an initial
study for the proposed project. Said initial study did not
disclose any substantial or potentially substantial adverse
change in any of the physical conditions within the area
affected by the project including land, air, water, minerals,
flora, fauna, ambient noise, and objects of historical or
aesthetic significanc. Therefore, a Negative Declaration has
been prepared for this project.
Before the City Council takes action on this project, the
Council should "move to approve and file the Negative Declara-
tion and find that the project will not have a significant
effect on the environment."
RECOMMENDAT ION
.
There is no zone classification for public facilities, and
the Planning Department believes that Longley Way School, zoned
R-2, should be changed to R-1 12,500 which would be consistent
with the zoning of adjacent properties.
Therefore, the Planning Department recommends that this
property be rezoned to R-1 (12,500 square feet).
