January 11, 1966 TO: PLANNING COMMISSION FROM: PLANNING DEPARTMENT SUBJECT: ZONE CHANGE Z-65-12 - ZONE C-3 PROPERTIES The public hearing to consider the reclassification of all C-3 properties to Zone C-2 was instituted by the Planning Commission on its own motion at the regularly scheduled meeting of November 9, 1965. The Planning Commission determined at that meeting that the only differences between Zone C-3 and Zone C-2 were in the requirements for parking. The uses permitted and regulations for those zones are identical. As part of their review of the entire zoning ordinance, the Commission determined that the parking requirements for the City should be changed. They further determined that the parking requirements for Zones C-2 and C-3 should be the some. This determination in essence eliminated the need for 0 separate C-3 Zone and prompted the Commission to schedule this hearing. RECOMMENDA TlON: The Planning Deportment concurs with the Planning Commission and would recommend that all C-3 zoned properties be reclassified to Zone C-2.
