to convert the attic space of an existing single-story, single-family residence into a habitable second-floor
area that is subject to the City’s Single-Family Architectural Design Review process. You have the
opportunity to comment on the project prior to the City making a decision on the project described below:
A.Categorical Exemption per Section 15301(e)(1) from the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) as an addition to an existing structure; and
B.Single-Family Design Review No. SFADR No. 23-10
Project Description: The Applicant is proposing to convert an existing attic area of a 2,125 square foot,
single-story residence into an 805 square foot, new habitable second-floor. The new second-floor area will
remain outside of all the required setbacks. The existing roof and the total height of the residence will not
change.
Lot Size: 8,058 square feet
Existing Building Size (excluding the garage): 2,125 square feet
New Building Size (excluding the garage): 2,930 square feet
Floor Area Ratio Proposed: 2,938 square feet (36.5%)
Floor Area Ratio Allowed: 3,598 square feet (44.6%)
Comment Period: Friday, May 26, 2023 to Friday, June 9, 2023, 4:30 PM
