SPECIAL INFORMATION
On May 12, 1987, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution 1333 (copy
attached) granting Conditional Use Permit 87-6 to permit a maximum of 20
seating stools to be used in conjunction with the existing food counters within
the Vons Pavilions store.
At the the present time only one food counter with 20 seats remains, as illustrated
on the attached Seating Area Plan and submitted floor plan.
PROPOSAL AND ANALYSIS
It is staffs opinion that to allow a limited number of seating in market facilities
only provides a convenience for customers. The aforementioned food counter
and its existing seating is a convenient and incidental use to the Vons Pavilions
store. Staff believes that the applicant's proposal for theoadditional seating would
not create a situation that would be detrimental to the site or neighboring
properties.
Pursuant to the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act, the
Planning Department has prepared an initial study for the proposed project. Said
initial study did not disclose any substantial or potentially substantial adverse
change in any of the physical conditions within the area affected by the project
including land, air, water, minerals, flora, fauna, ambient noise, and objects of
historical or aesthetic significance. Therefore, a Negative Declaration has been
prepared for the project.
RECOMMENDATION
The Planning Department recommends approval of applicant's proposal subject
to the following conditions:

4. That revised c.u.P. 87-6 shall not take effect until the owner and
applicant have executed a form available at the Planning Department
indicating awareness and acceptance of the conditions of approval.
5. Noncompliance with the provisions and conditions of this revised
Conditional Use Permit shall constitute grounds for the immediate
suspension or revocation of said permit.
6. That the food counter shall remain clear of all debris, at reasonable
