A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, INSTITUTING PROCEEDINGS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING EVIDENCE,
CONSIDERING AND MAKING DETERMINATIONS
AND RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE
CLASSIFICATION TO ZONE C-O AND ZONE D
(ARCHITECTURAL OVERLAY) OF CITY-01^INED
PROPERTY AT THE CORNER OF HUNTINGTON
DRIVE AND HOLLY AVENUE IN SAID CITY.
~mEREAS, the City proposes to lease the property hereinafter
described to the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, and said Chamber of Com-
.
merce proposes to construct thereon an office building for its use; and,
~~, in order to obtain finances for said proposed con-
struction it is necessary that said property, in the event of lease
foreclosure, be usable for some purpose other than residential,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOi'lS:
SECTION 1. That the public health, convenience and general
welfare of the City of Arcadia and the inhabitants thereof require the
consideration of and the institution of proceedings for the purpose of
considering and making recommendations concerning the classification of
the following described property at the corner of Huntington Drive and
Holly Avenue, to wit:
That portion of Lot 5, of Tract No. 949, in the City of Arcadia,
County of LOS Angeles, State of California, per map recorded in Book 17,
Page 13, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
described as follows:

Beginning at the most westerly corner of that parcel of land
conveyed to the Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc., and described as Parcel 2
in deed recorded in Book 12619, Page 275, of Official Records of said
County; thence along the boundary of the land described in said Parcel 2
as follows:
South 510 27' 00" East 481.12 feet; South 380 33' 00" to/est
150.00 feet; and South 510,27' 00" East 30.00 feet to the intersection
with the southeasterly line of said Lot 5; thence southwesterly and
westerly, along the southeasterly and southerly line of said Lot 5, to
its point of intersection with the southerly line of Huntington Drive,

80.00 feet in width, as the same is described in deed to the City of
Arcadia recorded in Book 9396, Page 145, of Official Records of said
county; thence easterly and northeasterly along the southerly and
southeasterly line of said Huntington Drive, to the point of beginning;
lying southwesterly of a line described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southeasterly line of Huntington
Drive, 80 feet wide, as described in deed to City of Arcadia, recorded
in Book 9396, Page 145, of Official Records of said County, said point
being southwesterly 1859.0 feet from the most westerly corner of that
parcel of land conveyed to the Los Angeles Turf Club, Incorporated, and
described as Parcel 2 in deed recorded in Book 12619, Page 275, of
official records of said County; thence southeasterly in a direct line
to a point of intersection with the southeasterly line of Lot 5 of
Tract 949; said point of intersection being 4043.0 feet southwesterly
from the northeast corner of said Lot 5, measured along the southeasterly
lines of said Lot 5;
to Zone C-O and also Zone D (Architectural Overlay) and concerning the

regulations to be imposed thereon under said Zone D.
SECTION 2. That the City Planning Commission does hereby, on
its own motion, institute proceedings for said purposes. That Tuesday,
September 22, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in the Council
Chamber in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California,
is hereby fixed and determined as the date, hour and place of the hearing
for the consideration of such matters and for the purpose of receiving all
proper evidence and testimony relevant thereto.
SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall cause to be given notice of the date, place
and purpose of said hearing in the manner required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the 11th day
