RESOLUTION NO. 473
A RESOLUTION QF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSIO~ OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA., INSTITUTING PROC~DINGS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING AND
~ING RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING '
THE RECLASSIFICA1ION OF THE PROPERTY
IN ,SAID CITY DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION
NO. 30 SOUTHEAST ARCADIA (UNINHABITED)
AND FiXING THE DATE. HOUR AND PLACE OF
A PUBLIC HEARING FOR SUCH PURPOSE.

WHEREAS, the annexation to the City of Arcadia of ter-
ritory designated as Annexation No. 30, Southeast Arcadi~ (unin-
habited) was completed on February 18, 1963j and.
WHEREAS, no portion of said territory was reclassified
concurrently with its annexation to the City of Arcadia; and,
WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance or the City or Arcadia, as
amended, provides that all property annexjld to the City of Arcadia
and not otherwise classified concurrently with its annexation is
classified and placed in Zone R-lj and,
WHEREAS, in view of the zoning;and use of other proper-
ties in the area consideration should be given to the reclassifica-
tion or aforesaid territory thus annexed to the City of Arcadia
from Zone R-1 to Zone M-1 and D (Archit~ctural Overlay) or to some

NOW, THEREFORE, THE, CITY PLANNING COMMI~SION O:F THE CITY
OF ARCADIA. CALI FORN+ A, DoES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public health, convenience and general

welfare of the .city of"Arcadia and the inhabitants there'of require
4It the consideration of and the institution of proceedings for the pur-

pose of'consideJ:'ing and making recommendations concerning the reclas-
sification from Zone R-l to Zones M-l and D (Architectural Overlay)
or to some other appropriate classification of all that portion of
real property contained in Annexation No. 30, Southwest Arcadia Un-

Beginning at a point in the s~uthwesterly
boundary of the City of Arc~dia, as same
existed on October 1, 1962, said point being
at the intersection of the southwesterly line
of Clark Street, 50 feet wide, as shown on map
of Chicago Park, recorded in Boo~ 30, page 100,
of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the
Recorder of Los Angeles County and the south-
easterly line of Durfee Avenue, 80 feet wide,
as shown on map of Tract No. 13286, recorded
in Book 268, pages 29 to 32 inclusive, ,of Maps
in the office of said Recorder of Los Angeles
County; thence southwesterly along said south-
easterly line 628.09 feet more or less, to its
intersection with the southwesterly line of
Randolph Street, as shown on map of said Chi-
cago park; thence southeasterly along the last
mentioned line to an angle point in the exist-
ing City of Arcadia boundary; thence ~outh-
easterly along said boundary, following its
various courses and distances to the point of
beginning. '
SECTION 2. That the City Planning Commission does hereby,
on its own motion, institute proceedings for said purposes. That
Tuesday, April 23, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the
Council Chamber inthe City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia,
California, is hereby fixed and determined as the date, hour and
place of the hearing for the consideration of such matters and for
the purpose of receiving all proper evidence and testimony relevant
thereto.
SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall cause to be given notice of the date, place
and purpose of said hearing in the manner required by law.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the 26th
day of
