RESOLUTION NO. 915 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA RECOMMENDING A ZONE CHANGE FROM R-2 TO R-l FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 111-165 WEST DUARTE ROAD, A PORTION OF ARCADIA HIGH SCHOOL. WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on October 14, 1975 for the purpose of considering changing the zone from R-2 (two- family zone) to R-l (second one-family zone) on the property located at 111-165 West Duarte Road, a portion of Arcadia High School, more particularly described as follows: That portion of Arcadia High School presently zoned R-2 legally known as that portion of Lot 3, Tract No. 950, as shown on Map recorded in Bo,ok 17, Page 25 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, described as follows: Beginning at the lntersection of the south line of Campus Drive 87 feet wide and the east line of El Monte Ayenue 40 feet wide as shown on Map of Tract No. 11969 recorded in Book 259, Page 36 and 37 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County (now vacated); thence easterly along said southerly line of Campus Drive 830.94 feet; thence southerly along a line parallel with said east line of El Monte Avenue to the northerly line of Duarte Roa,d 84 feet wide; thence westerly along said no.rtherly line of DUiLrte Road to abovementioned east line of E1 Monte Avehue, thence northerly along said east line of El Monte Avenue to the point of beginning. WHEREAS, all interested persons were given full oppor- tunity to be heard and to present evidence; NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA HEREBY DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The subject area consists of a portion of Arcadia High School which contains the majority of school buildings, Property to the east is zoned R"l and developed with the Arcadia -1- 915 " . . . High School athletic courts and field; properties to the south across Duarte Road are zoned R-l and developed wi th churches and single family dwellings; property to the west is zoned R-l and developed with the Arcadia Unified School District Administration bui1ding~ Arcadia High School classroom~ and parking area; and property to the north is zoned 5-2 and deve~oped with the County Park Golf Course. SECTION 2. The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council that the zoning on the above described property be changed from R-2 to R-l. SECTION 3. That the Planning Commission finds that the proposed change would provide uniform zoning within the area and . that the public convenience, necessity and general welfare justify the above zone change. SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
