RESOLUTION NO. 878
A RESOLUTION OF THE PL&~NING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL OF TEXT AMENDMENT 75-1 RELATING
TO PARKING STALL SIZE, MARKING AND SPACE
REQUIREMENTS IN THE COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL
(C-Cl ZONE.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission on its own motion held
a public hearing on January 14, 1975, to consider amending parking
stall size, marking and adding space requirements in the Community
Commercial (C-Cl zone; and
WHEREAS, all interested persons were given full oppor-
tunity to be heard and to present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA RECOMMENDS TO THE CITY COUNCIL:
SECTION 1. That Section 926,8.3.1 be added to the Arcadia
Municipal Code and read as follows:
"SPACE REQUIRED. No less than' the number of parking
spaces shall be provided and maintained for' each of the following
uses:
USE
PARKING SPACE REQUIRED
8 spaces per lOOO sq. ft, modified gross floor
area
20 spaces per 1000 sq. ft. gross floor area
10 spaces per 1000 sq, oft, gross floor area
B spaces per 1000 sq. ft. modified gross floor
area
5 spaces per 1000-sq.'ft. modified gross floor
area
5 spaces per 1000 sq, ft. gross floor area
Banks
Drive-In Restaurants
Bars & Other Restaurants
Offices-Medical & Dental
General Offices
All other Uses

SECTION 2. That Section 9268.3;4 of the Arcadia Municipal
Code be amended to read as follows:
"DIMENSIONS. Stall Size: Open and covered parking stalls
shall be not less than nine (9) feet wide and twenty' (20) feet long.
Aisle Width (00-450): Parking spaces laid at angles
through forty-five (45) degrees to the aisles or driveways shall have
a one-way aisle or driveway width of not less than sixteen (16)
feet.
Aisle Width (460-600): Parking spaces laid at angles from
forty-six' (46) degrees thr,ough sixty (60) degrees to the aisle or
driveway shall have a one-way aisle or driveway width of not less
than twenty (20) feet.
. Aisle Width (610-900): Parking spaces laid at angles from
sixty-one (61) degrees through ninety (90) degrees to the aisle
or driveway shall have an aisle or driveway width of not less than
twenty-five (25) feet.
Parallel Parking: Parallel parking spaces shall have twenty
(20) foot minimum aisles and ten (10) foot'by twenty~four (24) foot
parkihg stall size."
SECTION 3. That Section 9268.3.8 of the Arcadia Municipal
Code be amended to read as follows:
"MARKING OF SPACES. Each parking space shall be clearly
marked with paint or other easily distinguishable material and shall
be marked so as to provide a seven (7) 'foot. unmarked space midway
between the sides of the, space and an island two (2) feet in width
between the seven (7) foot unmarked areas."

SECTION 4. The Planning Commission finds that the public
necessity, convenience,' general welfare and good zoning practice
justify the above recommendations.
SECTION 5. The, Secretary"shail"certify to-the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the
City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution-was adopted
at a regular meeting of the Planning commission' of the City of Arcadia
held on the 28 day of January, 1975, by the following vote:

Reiter, Coghlan
NOES:
None
