RESOLUTION 862
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING CO~ft1ISSION
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA GRANTING A
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A FOUR-
AUDITORIUM MOTION PICTURE THEATER AT
400 SOUTH BALDWIN.
WHEREAS, on August 12, 1974, General Cinema Theatres
Corporation filed an application for a conditional use permit for
a four auditorium motion picture theater, Planning Department Case
No. 74-14, on the property commonly known as 400 South Baldwin
Avenue, more particularly described as follows:
Parcel No. One of Parcel Map No. 4626, Parcel
Map Book Pages Sl-SO in the office of Los Angeles
County Recorder.

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said matter on
August 27, 1974, at which time all interested persons were given
full opportunity to be hea~d and to present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the factual data submitted by the Planning
Department in the attached staff report is true and correct.
SECTION 2. This Commission finds that:
1. The granting of a conditional use permit as herein-
after provided will not be detrimental to the public health or
welfare or injurious t.o the property or improvements in such zone
or vicinity.
2. The use applied for at ~he location indicated is
4It properly one for which a conditional use permit is authorized.

3. The site for the proposed use is adequate in size,
and shape to accommodate said use, and all yards, parking, loading,
landscaping and other features required to adjust said use with the
land and uses in the neighborhood.
4. The site abuts streets and highways adequate in width
and pavement type to carry the kind of traffic generated by the
proposed use.
S. The granting of such conditional use permit will not
adversely affect the General Plan.
6. The use applied for will not have a substantial adverse
impact on the environment.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons, subject to
approval of the City Council, this Commission grants a conditional
use permit for a four-auditorium motion picture theater upon the
following conditions:
1. One additional lavatory in ea.ch restroom shall be
provided.
2. The property shall be 'improved and maintained in
accordance with the plans which are on file in the subject Case
No. C.U.P. 74-14.
3. All signs shall comply with code and the provisions
set forth in City Council Resolution 4l8S.
4. There shall be no external wall signs,.
5. That only one of the center's free standing signs may
be used for theater advertising and its location shall be subject to
the approval of the Planning Commission.

SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to the
City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held on the 10th
day of September, 1974, by the following vote:
