RESOLUTION NO. 857
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLAJlliING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA GRANTING A
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO EXPA}lD THE
EXISTING r1ARANATHA HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY
AT 501 NORTH SANTA ANITA AVENUE.
WHEREAS, on r1ay 24, 1974, Maranatha High School filed an
application to increase the floor space of the existing library
by 380 square feet, Planning Department Case No. C.U,P. 74-10,

on the property commonly known as 501 North Santa Anita Avenue,
more particularly described as follows:
Parcell: Lot 26 of Tract No,. 1.7329 in the
City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded
in Book 446, pages 26 and 27, of Maps, in
the Office of the County Recorder of said
County.
Parcel 2: That portion of Lot 15 of
Tract No. 17329, in the City of Arcadia,
County of Los Angeles, State of California,
as per map recorded in Book 446, pages 26
and 27 of 1~aps, in the Office of the
County Recorder of said County and those
portions of Cornell Drive and Windsor Road,
as shown on said m?p, lying southerly of
a line that is parallel with and distant
50.00 feet southerly measured at right
angles, from the southerly line and easterly
and westerly prolongation thereof, of
Lot 14 of said Tract No. 17329.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said matter on
June 25, 1974 at which time all interested persons were given
full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

. SECTION 1. That the factual data submitted by the
Planning Department in the attached staIf report is true and
correct.

SECTION 2. This Commission finds that:
1. The granting of a conditional use permit as herein-
after provided will not be detrimental to the public health or
welfare or injurious to the property or improvements in such zone
or vicinity.
2. The use applied for at the location indicated is
properly one for which a conditional use permit is authorized.
3. The site for the proposed use is adequate in size,
and shape to accommodate said use, and all yards, parking, loading,
landscaping and other features required to adjust said use with
the land and uses in the neighborhood.
4. The site abuts streets and highways adequate in
width and pavement type to carry the kind of traffic generated
by the proposed use.
5. The granting of such conditional use permit will not
adversely affe,ct the General Plan.
6. The use applied for will not have a substantial
adverse impact on the environment.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons, subject to
approval of the City Council, this Commission grants a conditional
use permit to increase the floor space of the existing library
by 380 s~uare feet provided that the property shall be improved
and maintained in accordance with the plans which are on file in

~ the subject Case No. C.U.P. 74-10 and all applicable regulations
of the Arcadia Municipal Code and subject to conditions set forth
in Resolution No. 741, except that it is expressly understood
that the granting of this conditional use permit shall not extend
the expiration date of Resolution No. 741 and that this grant shall
in no way bind the City of Arcadia in its future consideration
for extension, if any is requested.
SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy to be forwarded to
the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held on
