RESOLUTION NO. 722
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA RECOMMENDING THAT
"PARKING STALLS BE INCREASED TO NINE FEET
IN WIDTH IN ALL ZONES EXCEPT C-M, M AND
RESIDENTIAL.
WHEREAS, on the Planning Comn,ission zone motion a public
hea:r;ing was held on 12 January 1971 relative to changing the zoning
ordinance regulations pertaining to the size of automobile parking
stalls, at which time all interested persons were given a full
opportunity ,to be heard and to present evidence,
NOW, THEREFORE ,THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA HEREBY DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That the zoning ordinance stould be amended
to provide that in all zones except C-M, M and Residential, automobil~
parking stalls shall be nine (9) feet in width and each parking sp:tce
shall be separated by hairpin markings of a minimum of two (2) feet
apart,
SECTION 2. The Planning ,Commission finds that in order
to adequately accommodate the width of an average automobile, the
parking stalls should be nine (9) feet in width; that hairpin markings
assist drivers in centering an automobile within a parking stall;
and that the public convenience and good zoning practice justify
such amendment.
SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution,

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of
Arcadia held on the 26th
