RESOLUTION NO. 662
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDING CERTAIN REGULATIONS FOR THE
CONTROL OF HEALTH FACILITIES INCLUDING
HOSPITALS, CONVALESCENT FACILITIES, REST
HOMES, AND BOARD AND CARE FACILITIES.
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES
DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That pursuant to Division 3 of Part 9 of
Chapter 2 of Article IX of the Arcadia Municipal Code, the City
Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, after a notice duly
published, held a public hearing on August 13, 1968, concerning
proposed changes :In the regulations pertaining to health facilities,
including hospitals, convalescent facilities, rest homes" and board
and care facilities. At said hearing all interested persons were
given a full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence and
the hearing was then continued to September 10, 1968, at which time
further evidence was heard and interested persons were given a full
opportunity to be heard and to present evidence.
SECTION 2. The Planning Commission finds and determines
that public necessity, convenience, general welfare, health, and
good zoning practice justify and require that this Commission make
the following recommendations to the City Council for; amendment of
the Arcadia Municipal Code:
1. That health facilities, including hospitals, con-
. valescent homes, rest homes, and board and care facilities, be
prohibited in Zones R-O and R-l.
2. That such health facilities be permitted in Zones
R-2, R-3, and C-O, subject to the issuance of a conditional use

3. That board and care facilities which are subject to
licensing by the Department ,of Social Welfare be subject to the
sanle regulations w'hich are applicable to convalescent facilities.
4. That building construction standards for s~ch health
facilities meet the minimum standards specified for apartments in
the Arcadia Municipal Code, provided that any higher standards
provided by other laws shall also apply.
SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a copy hereof to be forwarded
to the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adop,ted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the
. 8th day of October , 1968, by the following vote:

ABSTAIN: Commissioner Lauber
