RESOLUTION NO. 653
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW
AN ADDITION TO THE SANTA ANITA CHURCH SCHOOL
UPON CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS. there was filed with this Commission on the 21st
day of June. 1968 1;he application of the SANTA ANITA CHURCH for
expansion of existing grade school facilities at 226 West Colorado
Boulevard, more particularly hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by the zoning ordi-
nances of said Ci t;f a public hearing was ,duly held on the matter by
and before this Commission on the 9th day of July, 1968, at whi,ch
time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be heard
. and to present evidence;
NOW. THEREFORE. THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA HEREBY DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Planning Commission finds and determines
that the applicant is presently operating a school on said property;
that there have been no complaints from adjoining property owners
regarding the operation of the school and that it appears that the
proposed expansion of the school is compatible with the use of the
surrounding property and that good zoning practice justifies this
improvement under a conditional use permit.
SECTION 2. That the Planning Commission finds and deter-

mines that the granting of such conditional use permit will not be
detrimen,tal to the public health or welfare or injurious to the
property or improvements in such zone or vicinity. Tha t the use
applied for at the location indicated is properly one for which a

~ condition~l use permit is authorized. That the site for the pro-
posed use is adequate in size and shape to accommodate said use, and
all yards, spaces, walls, fences, parking, loading, landscaping, and
other features required to adjust said use with the land and uses in
the neighborhood. That the site abuts streets and highways adequate
in width and pavement type to carry the kind of traffic generated by
the proposed use. That the granting of such conditional use permit
will not adversely affect the comprehensive plan.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons a conditional
use permit is hereby granted to use said property for the expansion
of existing grade school facilities on the following conditions:
1. All buildings to be constructed shall comply with the
~ Arcadia Building Code.
2. All parking lot illumination and building illumina-
tion shall be designed and directed away from the adjoining proper-
ties and shall meet with the approval of the Department of Public
Works.
3. Final plans and working drawings shall be in substan-
tial compliance with the plans submitted by applicant to the Plan-
ning Department and on file in said department in File No. C.U.P.
68-14.

4. That this conditional use permit shall be approved by
the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
Said property is described as follows:
Part of Lot 1, Tract No. 949, as per map recorded
in Map Book 17, Pages 13 and 43, in the office of
the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California.
SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
