A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE
RECLP~SIFICATION OF THE PROPERTIES
IN TFm CITY BOUNDED BY SANTA ANITA
AVENUE, CALIFORNIA STREET, FIRST
AVENUE AND DUARTE ROAD BY ELIMINATING
THE H ZONE CLASSIFICATION FROM ALL
PROPERTIES IN SAID AREA THUS CLASSIFIED.
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OpTHE CITY OF A~CADIA, CALI-
FORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That this Commission on its own motion insti-
tuted proceedings for the purpose of holding hearings, receiving evi~

dence and making recommendations concerning the reclassification of
the properties in the City bounded by Santa Anita Avenue, California

Street, First Avenue and DuaJ;'te Road by eliminating the, H Zone -
Special Height Zone from al,i such properties thus class'ified; that
pursuant to which public .h~arings were, after notice duly given,
held by and before this..Commission on February 28, 1967, which hear-

ing was continued to ~arch 14, 1967, at each of which times all in-
terested persons wer~ given full opportunity to be heard and to

SECTI6N 2. That in the opinion of this Commission, Zone
H - Special Height Zone should apply to commercial areas located
/
around the center of retail and office areas, both existing and pro-
posed. ~hat the above-described properties, though basically zoned
,
for co~ercial and multiple family purposes, are for the most part
f
developed with single-family dwellings. That the retention of said
I
prop~rty 'in Zone H is not warranted by good zoning practice nor re-
I
qui red for the highest and best use of the properties in and about

said area.

SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons thi:s Commis-
sion recommends that the above-described properties be reclassified
by eliminating the H-Zone Special Height Zone classification from
all properties in said area thus classified.
SECTION 4. That concurrent with ,the institution of the
aforesaid proceedings this Commission a~sb instituted proceedings
for the purpose of holding hearings, receiving evidence, considering
and
making recommendations concernfng similar reclassification of

the residentially zoned properties which are also in Zone H;
all

that after hearings duly held it was, determined that all other prop-
ertiesin Zone H except those bounded by Santa Anita Avenue, Cali-
fornia Street, First Ayenue and Duarte Road should remain as pre-

SECTION 5. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption

of this resolution and shall cause a copy of the same to be for-

warded to/the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
