RESOLUTION NO. 606 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY PLANNING CO~mMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT UPON SPECIFIED CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF PART OF AN EXISTING BUILDING FOR MEETINGS OF A LODGE AND RENTAL FOR OTHER INCIDENTAL USES. tap i>t-/9 WHEREAS, there was filed with this Conunission on the 7th day of December, 1966, the application of Frank and Mary Diliberto for the Sons of Italy Arcadia Lodge No. 2173, for a conditional use permit for the use of part of an existing building for meetings of the lodge and incidental rental to other groups for meetings, wedding parties and other similar events on property located at 137 East . Huntington Drive in the City .of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, more specifically described as follows: The easterly 20 feet of Lot 9 ,and all of Lot 10 of Santa Anita, Tract, Block 75, per map recorded in Book 15, page 3, of Maps in the office of the County Ri~corder of said County; and, WHEREAS, a.public hearing was duly held on said matter by and before this Commission on the lOth day of January, 1967, at which time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be heard and to prl~sent evidence; NOW, THE~~FORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIF03NIA, HEREBY DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: . SECTION 1. That subject property is in the Towne Center which is zoned C-C and D; that private clubs and lodges are permitted in Zone C-C provid,~d that the location fulfills the requirements for condi tional use pe:mii ts; that a cleaners and a laundromat occupy the firs,t floor of the structure and are proposed to remain; that the -1- 606 v " ~ . . . . second floor is where the lodge activities are proposed to take place. That the parking required for the existing floor area is 45 spaces but subject property is in Parking District No. and was assessed to pay a portion of the cost of its two public parking lots which contains approximately 115 parking spaces. That the use is one which can comply with the requirements of a conditional use permit; that the second story of this structure is not adaptable to retail trade and could more easily accommodate the proposed use; that with proper improvement of the site the use will not be detri- mental to the public health or welfare or injurious to the property or improvements in the zone or vicinity; that the site abuts Hunt- ington Drive which is adequate in size to carry the kind of traffic generated by the use. That the granting of a conditional use permit as hereinafter provided will not adversely affect the comprehensive general plan. . SECTION :::. That for the foregoing reasons, this Commission hereby grants a conditional use permit for the use as a lodge-hall of the second stor~r of the building located upon the above-described property upon the following conditions: 1. That subject use shall be limited to the second story only of said building; 2. That the building shall be repainted in a color com- patible with the development plan for the Central area; 3. That all signs shall comply with the Zone D regulations; 4. That all outside equipment and vents shall be screened to the satisfaction of the Planning Department and all unused equip- ment shall be removed; 5. That the conditional use hereby granted shall be for a period of and shall expire at the end of ten (10) years after the -2- 606 :"l "', ..~ - p . , . effective date hereof; providing, however, that the Planning Com- mission may without further necessity of notice or hearing, extend the same at any time prior to the expiration thereof. SECTION 3. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Planning Conun1ssion held on the lOth day of January, 1967, by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Ferguson, Golisch, Kuyper, Lauber, stewart and Parker NOES: None . NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE ARCADIA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION C.U.P.66-19 WHEREAS, FRANK DILIBERTO, Optionee of real property IO,cated within the City of Arcadia, California; and hereinafter described, has filed with the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, a Conditional Use Permit application. The subjec:t property is located at 135 East Huntington Drive. The legal description of the property is: The easterly 20 feet of Lot 9, and all of Lot 10 of the Santa Anita Tract, Block 75, as per map recorded in Book IS, page 3 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County. . The applicant requests a CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT to permit the use of the praperty hereinabove described for a lodge organization, known as Arcadia lodge No. 2173, Sons of Italy. At various times the facilities may be rented to groups or orgonizations for special purposes or events. NOW, THEREFORE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, JANUARY 10, 1967;. at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the request. An opportunity will be afforded to persons particularly interested, and the public generally, to be heard on all matters concerning said Conditional Use Permit. If the Commission pproves the request, no further action will be required unless the decisio of the Commission is appealed to the City Council. In the event an appeal is filed the City Council will also hold a public hearing and render a decision.
