A SERVICE STATION ON PROPERTY LOCATE
AT 600, 604 AND 610 NORTH SANTA ANITA
AVENUE IN SAID CITY.
RESOLUTION NO. 592
WHEREAS, there was filed with this Commission on the 12th
day of May, 1966, the application of Atlantic Richfield Company for
a conditional use permit to construct a service station on property
located at 600, 604 and 610 North Santa Anita Avenue in the City of
Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, more specifically
described as follows:

Lots 17, 18 and 19 of HavenTract per map recorded
in Book 13, pages 22 and 23, of Maps in the office
of the County Recorder of said County;
and,
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by the Zoning Ordi-
nance of said City, a, public hearing was held on the matter by and
before this Commission on June 14, 1966, at which time all interested
persons were given full opportunity to be heard and to present
evidence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That subject property is in Zone M-l P.LD.
and is presently developed with four (4) non-conforming residential
structures, plus gar~~ges. That the propo,sed development would re-
mOve the existing buildings in order to construct a service station

facility. That the location of a service station on subject site
does not me,et the criteria of essential services as provided for in
the legislative intent section of the M-l Division of the Zoning
Ordinance. That two other serv~ce stations are located within 500
feet of subject property and are adequate to serve the needs of this

industrial area and more particularly the industrial area adjacent to
Santa Anita Avenue. 'That the granting of a conditional use permit
would be adverse to the comprehensive general plan.
SECTION 3. That for the foregoing reasons, this Commission
hereby denies the requested conditional use permit for construction
of a service station on the above-described property.
SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Planning Commission held on the 28th
day of
June , 1966, by the following vote:
