Mayor Pro Tem Cao confirmed the guest keynote speaker at the health fair is Lieutenant General Mary K. Izaguirre. Lieutenant Izaguirre serves as the 46'h US Army Surgeon General and the Commanding General of the United States Army Medical Command. Lieutenant Izaguirre will be presenting at the Museum Education Center at 9:30am. The second seminar guest speaker will be at 10am, and third seminar speaker will be at 11 am. Director of Recreation and Community Services Department Sara Somogyi (DRCSD) reported the health fair street banner is up. DRCSD Somogyi confirmed the 40 booths are full including the six primary sponsored booths. DRCSD Somogyi provided everyone with a draft sample pamphlet indicating the health fair information, names of sponsors, booth locations, and other information. The final pamphlet version will be available at the next meeting in August. Council Member Wang suggested having volunteer ushers. DRCSD Somogyi responded by saying there should be someone supervising the volunteers as there will be enough City staff working at the event as well. DRCSD Somogyi asked for clarification on whether non-profit organizations will have to pay the $300 booth fee. Mayor Pro Tem Cao and Council Member Wang agreed the fee will be waived for the following non-profit organizations: American Red Cross, Chinatown Service Center, Alzheimer's Los Angeles, End Overdose, and the Arcadia Unified School District. Everyone in the meeting agreed to show up at 7:30am to begin setting up their booth. DRCSD Somogyi said there will be plenty of parking outside the event including street parking if the lot is full. Lunch will be provided for all sponsors and individuals providing consultations, but not for the general information booths. Lastly, Mayor Pro Tem Cao asked everyone to continue promoting the event by sharing information via email blasts, on social media, and sending flyers to friends and family. Mayor Pro Tem Cao adjourned the special meeting at 6:05pm to the next special meeting on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 5:OOpm in the Recreation Conference Room, 375 Campus Drive, Arcadia.
