NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
As authorized by California Government Code Section 54956 and Arcadia City
Charter Section 408, a Special Meeting of the Health Committee is hereby called to
be held at the Arcadia Recreation Office, 375 Campus Drive, Arcadia, California
on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 5p.m. The public is welcome to listen to or
join the Health Committee virtually at:

At this Special Meeting, the following matters will be discussed.
a. Approve the Special Meeting Minutes of November 6, 2024
Recommended Action. Approve
b. Planning Discussion for 2025
There will be time reserved for those members of the public who wish to address
the Health Committee regarding the above item.
In accordance with the Brown Act, public comments will be limited to addressing
the item listed on this special meeting agenda. Under the Brown Act, the Health
Committee is prohibited from discussing or taking action on any item not listed on
the posted agenda.
No other business than the above will be considered at this meeting.

SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2024
CALL TO ORDER – Mayor Cao called the meeting to order at 4:51pm.
PRESENT: Mayor Michael Cao and Council Member Eileen Wang
PUBLIC COMMENTS - None
On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the Health Committee met for a special meeting and the
following guests attended: Diane Daniels, Brian Green, Dr. Chia-Chieh Hu, Dr. Dino Clarizio,
Dr. Mark Feng, Dr. David Ratto, Angela Aschian, Jane Kim, Sara Somogyi, Gina Hernandez,
and Desiree Molina via phone.
Mayor Cao, Council Member Wang, and everyone agreed to have the 2024 Health Fair on
Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Arcadia Community Center from 9am to 12pm. Mayor
Cao reported the flu vaccines will be provided by Kaiser Permanente, and thanked Dr. Feng for
arranging the request. Kaiser Permanente will provide up to 1,000 free flu vaccines and medical
staff to administer the flu vaccine.
Director of Recreation Community Services (DRCS) Sara Somogyi reported on the Newcastle
Park renovation. The Arcadia Parks Foundation is offering the opportunity for individuals to
purchase a brick to be engraved and placed permanently in the park pathways. Bricks can be
purchased at www.arcadiaparks.org/newcastle.
Mayor Cao adjourned the Special Meeting at 5:15pm to the next Special Meeting on January 8,
2025, at 4:45pm in the Recreation Conference Room, 375 Campus Drive, Arcadia.
