REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER — Chairperson Brink called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. in the Council
Chambers Conference Room.
ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS
PRESENT: Burton Brink, Vivien Watts, Gary Brewer, Lisa Walton, Uyen Wong
ABSENT: Sheryl Hunter, Robert Miller
It was the consensus of the Commission that Commissioner Hunter and Commissioner
Miller be excused from the meeting.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM STAFF REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS
Staff Liaison Bruno shared that newly elected Council Member, David Fu, will be the City
Council Liaison to the Arcadia Beautiful Commission now, replacing former liaison, Council
Member Eileen Wang.

2. CONSENT CALENDAR
a. A rove the Meetinc Minutes of December 19. 2024.
It was moved by Vice Chair Watts, seconded by Commissioner Wong, and carried on a
roll call vote to approve the minutes.
AYES: Watts, Wong, Brewer, Walton, Brink
NOES: None
ABSENT: Miller, Hunter
3. 2025 MEETING CALENDAR
The Commission reviewed the 2025 meeting and events calendar with no changes,
except for a suggestion by Chair Brink to make Thursday, August 8, a Special Meeting,
to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair. The appointment of three new members to the
Arcadia Beautiful Commission will occur in July 2025 and will necessitate new
appointments to the Chair and Vice Chair roles.
4. DEBRIEF OF 2024 HOLIDAY DECORATION AWARDS
a. Discussion on any recommended changes or improvements for 2025.
Commissioner Brewer suggested that letters be sent to properties who were nominated
for a Holiday Award, but ultimately not selected to win, to encourage continued
participation. In reviewing the timeline, it was the consensus of the Commission that
these letters would be sent to the nominees (not winners) but may be sent after the
judging and award process, due to timing constraints.
Otherwise, no changes were suggested to the Holiday Decoration Awards process.
5. DISCUSSION OF 2025 ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION
a. Arbor Day Proclamation at City Council Meeting (Date: March 4, 2025)
Staff Liaison Bruno reviewed the plan for the 2025 Arbor Day Celebration and the
Commissioners discussed their attendance at the March 4 City Council Meeting to
receive the proclamation.
6. DISCUSSION OF 2025 SPRING HOME AWARDS
a. Assignment of individual judging zones
b. Start of individual judging
c. Group judging (Date: April 10, 2025)
d. Spring Home Awards presentation at City Council Meeting (Date: May 6, 2025)
The Commission reviewed the schedule for the Spring Home Awards and opted to
change the group judging date to Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of April 10. It was
determined that a later judging date will offer more time for weather -based
improvements in the gardens and landscapes of Arcadia.

ADJOURNMENT
Chairperson Brink adjourned the meeting at 7:05 p.m. to Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. in
the Council Chambers Conference Room, 240 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia.
