Under the Brown Act, the Library Board is prohibited from discussing or taking action on any item not listed on the posted agenda. The matter may automatically be referred to staff for appropriate response or action or may be placed on the agenda of a future meeting. This program promotes reading as a fun activity for kids ages infant to 14 years. Whether you are gaming, exploring STEM concepts, learning to play chess or how to code video games, the theme reminds us that libraries are not just a place to acquire knowledge but also a space to have fun! For younger children, the program encourages caregivers to read aloud and establish the fundamental building blocks of reading and language. And for older kids, it helps to maintain or improve their reading skills. Come and level up at the Library! HOW TO PARTICIPATE Beginning Monday, June 2, 2025, kids (infants to 5th grade) and youth (entering 6 th to 8th grades) may register online at https://arcadiaCA.beanstack.org/reader365. Visit the Arcadia Public Library and check out some great books. Read and log your reading minutes online using Beanstack. You will earn one virtual point for every 60 minutes logged (up to 720 minutes). Every 60 minutes read beyond 720 minutes (and up to 1040 minutes) will earn you one virtual bonus point that can be used for entry into a grand prize drawing of your choosing. Stop by the , beginning Monday, June 9, 2025, to report and redeem your earned points for reading reward(s) of choice. Rewards available while supplies last. All active participants will be randomly entered into a weekly drawing for free book giveaways!
