PUBLIC COMMENTS (5-minute time limit per person) Any individual wishing to speak before the Health Commission is limited to five (5) minutes per person, unless waived by the Health Commission. Under the Brown Act, the Health Commission is prohibited from discussing or taking action on any item not listed on the posted agenda. The matter may automatically be referred to staff for appropriate response or action or may be placed on the agenda of a future meeting. REPORTS FROM HEALTH COMMISSIONERS REPORT FROM CITY COUNCIL MEMBER LIAISON 2. CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and can be acted on by one roll call vote. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless members of the Commission, staff, or the public request that a specific item be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate discussion and action. a. Citywide Health Seminars for 2026 ADJOURNMENT The Health Commission will adjourn this meeting to the next regular meeting on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the Recreation and Community Services Department Conference Room, 375 Campus Drive, Arcadia. HEALTH COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 CALL TO ORDER – Chairperson Clarizio called the special meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Clarizio, Feng, Hu, Daniels, Molina, Ratto, Thomassian ABSENT: None 1. PUBLIC COMMENTS – None 2. CONSENT CALENDAR a. Special Meeting Minutes of August 6, 2025. Recommended Action: Approve It was moved by Commissioner Ratto, seconded by Commissioner Thomassian, and unanimously carried on roll call vote to approve Item 2a. AYES: Clarizio, Feng, Hu, Daniels, Molina, Ratto, and Thomassian NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None b. Discussion of final Health Fair Details Recreation Supervisor (RS) Gina Hernandez showed everyone a draft of the Health Fair booklet, and layout map of each booth location. Director of Recreation and Community Services Department (DRCSD) Sara Somogyi reported that breakfast will be donated by the Strauss Foundation and lunch will also be provided to everyone working the health fair. Everyone agreed to arrive promptly by 8:30 a.m., booths should be ready by 8:30 a.m., and announcements will begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. Special guests or local politician representatives will be given up to three minutes if they would like to make a speech. Commissioner Daniels suggested only actual elected officials who are present should be given the opportunity to give a speech, however, if a representative is there on their behalf, the representative can assist with the certificate exchange and no speech. DRCSD Somogyi reported that sponsors will be acknowledged in the Mayor’s speech. DRCSD Somogyi reported that this year, appointments for diabetic retinopathy screening and mammogram are available online at www.Arcadiaca.gov. DRCSD Somogyi asked everyone to send RS Hernandez the final count and list of names of individuals who will be working at the health fair by Friday, September 5, 2025. DRCSD Somogyi reported the giveaways this year include medication bottle openers and small tote bags. Lastly, DRCSD Somogyi thanked everyone for their support and hard work during the planning stages of the 2025 Health Fair. DRCSD Somogyi reminded everyone that the next Regular Meeting will be held on October 1, 2025.
