REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2025
CALL TO ORDER - Vice Chairperson Watts called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. in the City
Council Conference Room.
ROLL CALL OF COMMISSIONERS
PRESENT: Vivien Watts, Michael Cham, Ashish Guha, Karren Levine, Uyen Wong
ABSENT: Gary Brewer, Lisa Walton
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM STAFF REGARDING AGENDA ITEMS - None
PUBLIC COMMENTS - None.
1. CONSENT CALENDAR
a. Approve the Meeting Minutes oflune 26 2025
Recommended Action: Approve
It was moved by Commissioner Wong, seconded by Vice Chairperson Watts, and
carried on a roll call vote to approve the minutes.
AYES: Wong, Watts, Cham, Guha, and Levine
NOES: None
ABSENT: Brewer, Walton
2. DISCUSSION OF COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY (2025)
Staff Liaison Bruno provided an overview of the event, including potential locations
and nominees, which included Dorothy Denne; Dianne Chapman; and Morley
Helfand. After discussion, it was the consensus of the Commission to dedicate the
2025 Community Cleanup Day to memory of Dorothy Denne, long-term Arcadia
resident and volunteer.
3. DISCUSSION OF THE 2025 HOLIDAY AWARD PROGRAM
Staff Liaison Bruno provided an overview of the Holiday Awards process, which
included details on submission deadlines, judging process, and the Santa Squad
deliveries. She further explained how the letter process

Vice Chairperson Watts and Commissioner Wong passed along some suggestions to
the new commissioners, which included using a two -person team to drive the zone
and judge decorations, as well as taking a picture of each nominated home.
Vice Chairperson Watts and Commissioner Cham suggested some form of
advertising or information around when the ABC is undertaking theirjudging and
for property owners to keep their lights on during this time.
4. REPORT FROM COUNCIL MEMBER LIAISON - None
5. REPORT FROM COMMISSIONERS
Vice Chairperson Watts and Commissioner Wong welcomed the new commissioners
and shared that they look forward to working with them.
New Commissioners Cham, Guha, and Levine all expressed their appreciation and
positive sentiments about being appointed to the Arcadia Beautiful Commission.
ADJOURNMENT
Vice Chairperson Watts adjourned the meeting at 7:07 p.m.
