Planting Notes required measures The backfill mix for use around the rootball of all trees and shrubs shall consist of the following formula: 2/3 native rock free soil
1/3 organic amendment of composted wood mulch 1 lb/cuyd. of backfill mix 12-12-12 commercial fertilizer . agriform or eq.·time released fertilizing tablets . Fertilizer tablets shall be Agriform, 21 gram tablets {20-10-5) in quantities recommended by the manufacturer. Place tablets at half the depth of the rootball. Recommended thirty (30) days after installation all areas shall be fertilized with Best Fertilizer 16-16-8 or approved equal, applied at the rate of five pounds per 1000 square feet [by Owner's maintenance service) All new lawn areas shall rota-tilled to a depth of 6" with 3" of nitrogen stabilized organic amendment of composted wood mulch. Incorporate compost at a rate of at least four {4) cubic yards per 1,000 square feet to a depth of {6) inches into all landscape areas. (Unless contra-indicated by a soil test). A minimum of 3" of mulch shall be applied on all exposed soil surfaces of planting areas, except in: turf areas, creeping or rooting groundcovers, or direct seeding applications where mulch is contraindicated.
Soil amendment/back fill mixes for bidding purposes only.
Soil test is required following final grading, and actual amendments used must conform to
recommendations of the soil analysis.
