SUBJECT: DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE GILB MUSEUM OF ARCADIA
HERITAGE FOR PROGRAMMING AND SUPPLIES IN THE AMOUNT OF
$12,550

Recommendation: Accept
SUMMARY
The Friends of the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage have offered a donation of
$12,550 to support a variety of programs and the purchase of supplies for the Gilb
Museum. It is recommended that the City Council accept the donation of $12,550 to
support programming and supplies at the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage.
DISCUSSION
As part of their ongoing mission to help support the Gilb Museum’s goals and
objectives, the Friends of the Gilb Museum (the “Friends”), are donating $12,550 to
the Gilb Museum to fund a variety of programs. Funding will be used to support
programs that include the annual Snow Globe event, the 2026 Summer Enrichment
Program, 2026 Dino Day, the 2026 Preschool Program, as well as Community
Educational Kits, preservation workshops, Route 66 Tote Bags, and promotional
materials.
The funds donated by the Friends help the Gilb Museum provide high-quality
programs for the Arcadia community, beyond the current capacity of the Museum’s
Operating Budget. All gifts to the Museum over $10,000 are subject to approval by
the City Council pursuant to City Charter Section 1218 and Resolution No. 7514.

ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
The proposed action does not constitute a project under Section 15061(b)(3) of the
California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”), as it can be seen with certainty that it
will have no impact on the environment.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage’s programming for the residents of Arcadia is
enhanced by this gift of $12,550, including the programs for children, teens, and
adults that it will fund.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council determine this action does not constitute a
project under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”); and accept a
donation from the Friends of the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage for programming
and supplies in the amount of $12,500.
