This report uses notional loads to determine second order displacements, and is found in AISC 360, Section C "Design For Stability" or AISI S100 Appendix 2. For seismic loads FEMA 460 6.5.1 is employed (as permitted by ANSI MH16.1). Since the displacement effects have been computed as part of the static load review, the seismic effects may be conservatively computed by simple scaling of the static results.
