MEETING MINUTES
Tuesday, January 17, 2022
6:30 PM
Russ Meek’s house:1335 Oak Meadow Rd.
Call to Order
Chairperson Annette Wheat called the meeting to order. In attendance were
(11): Annette Wheat, Donna Perez, Sheryl Hunter, Christine Lee, Chris
Leong, Jessica Louie, Russ Meek, Linda Semain, Wilson Wong, Cindy Forillo,
Tom Walker
Roll Call and Approval of Minutes
The meeting minutes for the last meeting dated 11/15/22 were motioned for
approval by Russ Meek seconded by Donna Perez and passed unanimously.
Chairperson’s Report of ARB Activity
Tom Walker presented the ARB Meeting Minutes of 11/17/22 & 1/10/23 for
board approval. Motioned by Annette, seconded by Dona Perez and passed
unanimously. Tom also provided the updates(attached):1) New ARB board mem-
bers training was provided 2)7 new projects submitted since last meeting.
Guess speckers: Our new Area Commander John Bonomo from APD & Jack Orswell
from Community Affairs Office of City
John Bonomo provided updates from APD and reported the crimes in the
SAOHOA area for 2022 have reduced 2/3 from previous year. He suggested
that HOA continue to communicate and report any suspicious activities to
APD. Feel free to contact him with any questions or issues. Jack Orswell
also shared some valuable info.
President’s Report
Annette Wheat
ARB has accepted Krister Lile, as designated appointee for retired ARB
member.
Setting calendar for the next tasks:
• Annual HOA Meeting & Party will be held on 6/4/2023
• Board members will work on getting News Letter ready in next 90
days.
• Nominating Committee for 2023-2024 Board were formed: Volunteered by
3 board members, Sheryl, Christine & Russ. Committee will meet and
provide a slate by March meeting for board review and approval.
City of Arcadia Requests Roster of all SAOHOA Board and ARB members. An-
nette will submit to city.
Free Passes for Clubhouse and Valet Parking to Santa Anita Racetrack for
the current meet are available.
Vice President’s Report
Donna Pérez
Newsletter Committee will start working on the newsletter. Christine &
Russ will help out for the design and editing the format. The paper News-
letter will be included in the annual mailing. Donna asked the board mem-
bers to help on gathering the info and writing the articles.
Treasurer’s Report
Sheryl Hunter reported no new invoices are due except the reimbursement
$25 to Jessica Louie for SI annual filing. Motioned by Donna and seconded
by Annette, passed unanimously.
Vice-Secretary
Jessica Louie and Wilson Wong reported the updates on the HOA website and
requested the input and feedback. After discussions, the board decided to
order 30 signs to promote the HOA website and encourage the residences of
The Oaks to sign up. Russ will help on designing the signs.
SAOHOA Website Development
Wilson Wong requested the board members to sign up and provide articles
and photos for HOA website.
Code Enforcement
Linda Semain gave updates on the properties needing attention. She re-
ported few have been resolved and some new issued appeared. She will con-
tinue to monitor the situations.
Safety Committee
Jessica reported Flock Safety Cameras updates.

Next Board meeting will be 6:30pm Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Chris
Leong’s home.
