Clarify and coordinate how the 2’x2’ mudsill plate will be fully supported on the existing seating/stair (16” wide) below. The grandstand mud sill on the component elevations plans and layout plans do not show these plates bearing/supported completely on structural below. This seems to be a tipping issue at existing seating/stair bearing load locations. See drawing in the plan set for the mudsill and scaffold uprights with base jacks. 13. The scaffold structures will be constructed to support seating and will be constructed on concrete slab and stairs. We understand the City of Arcadia is governed by the 2020 California Building Code with a design wind speed requirement (3-sec gust) of 95 mph with Risk Category III requirement. We have been provided calculations for the tent profile: Below is a summary of design wind speed, floor design live load, and tie down anchors for each aluminum frame tent: Design wind speed: 95 mph (3-second gust), Class C Exposure (open terrain), Risk Category II, based upon a mean recurrence interval keeping with the intended use. Floor design live load: Floor design live load = 100 psf. Guards and Handrails: 200 lb point load applied in any direction at any point on the handrail or top rail and 50 lb/ft applied in any direction along the handrail or top rail. The 200 lb point load and 50 lb/ft load are not applied concurrently. Foundations: Wood mudsill areas are based on an assumed allowable bearing capacity of 2000 psf. Understructures: Understructures to be constructed in accordance with Shaffer Typical Understructure Drawings. Tie down anchors: Wind and seismic forces will be resisted with 1/2” diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ2 or approved equal. Bolts shall be embedded a minimum of 2-1/2” in to 3000 psi concrete. II 2 Brief description of the RINGSCAFF modular scaffold system The Scafom Ringscaff System Scaffold is a modular System that combines the speed of erection of a system scaffold with the flexibility of traditional scaffolding systems. The Ringscaff system consists of modular components such as vertical standards, horizontal ledgers and transoms and vertical diagonals that can be connected to a fixed rosette in various positions. All modular components are developed and tested, defining SWL data with at a 4:1 safety factor, which means the products equal or are stronger then the OSHA standards of light, medium and heavy duty loads. With this system you are able to create safe working platforms for all load classes, such as light, medium and heavy up to 75 lbs/ft2. To protect the system against corrosion, all components have been hot dip galvanized, according to ISO 1461. The Ringscaff system is used worldwide and has been approved in many different countries. In Europe the system has official approvals from the German Institute for Building Technology: DIBT, the Swedish Institute: SP and the Spanish institute AENOR. In England the system has been audited by the NASC. Note: Erection, changing and dismantling of the Ringscaff scaffold system should only be carried out by or under the supervision of a competent person who is familiar with the system. Damaged components should not be used to erect a system scaffold. The condition of the parts needs to be checked visually during erection of the scaffold. If parts look worn or are damaged they should not be used, but sent back to the branch depot for replacement.
