HomeMy WebLinkAbout7678RESOLUTION NO. 7678 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-26 CAPITAL IMPROVEMNET PROGRAM BUDGET, AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION FOR THE SCADA SYSTEM REPLACEMENT PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $163,195, OFFSET BY A REDUCTION IN THE WATER FUND WHEREAS, the Public Works Services Department ("Department") operates a complex water production and distribution system that requires continuous monitoring and automated control to ensure safe and reliable service to the community; and WHEREAS, the Department utilizes the SCADA system for real-time monitoring, alarm management, data logging, and automated control of the City's water infrastructure; and WHERAS, the existing SCADA system is built on an antiquated platform that is increasingly difficult to maintain and is no longer widely used in the industry; and WHEREAS, the existing SCADA system must be replaced with a modern, widely adopted SCADA solution; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Capital Improvement Program provides $1,000,000 for the replacement of the City of Arcadia's SCADA system. 1 WHEREAS, the Department solicited proposals for the SCADA System Replacement Project in accordance with City Council Resolution No. 7483, and four proposals were received and evaluated; and WHEREAS, Morrow -Meadows Co. was determined to be the most qualified firm to provide the complete scope of services for the SCADA System Replacement Project; and WHEREAS, the total cost for the SCADA System Replacement Project is $1,057,450, and a standard 10% contingency or $105,745 is recommended to cover potential unforeseen costs or circumstances; and WHEREAS, a supplemental budget appropriation in the amount of $163,195 is necessary, offset by a reduction in the Water Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The sum of one hundred sixty-three thousand one hundred ninety-five ($163,195) is hereby appropriated, to the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Capital Improvement Program Budget for the SCADA System Replacement Project.
