COMPLY WITH THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEATH
REGULATION OF THE U.S DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND
REGULATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR AGREES TO ASSUME
SOLE AND COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR JOB-SITE
SAFETY CONDITIONS DURING THE COURSE OF
CONSTRUCTION OF TH E PROJECT; THAT THIS
REQUIREMENT SHALL APPLY CONTINUALLY AND NOT
BE LIMITED TO NORMAL WORKING HOURS AND THAT
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, AND
HOLD HARMLESS THE OWNER AND DESIGN
CONSULTANT FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, REAL OR
ALLEGED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE PERFORMANCE
OF WORK ON THIS PROJECT.
11.THE STRUCTURE IS DESIGNED AS A STABLE UNIT
AFTER ALL COMPONENTS ARE IN PLACE. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL DESIGN AND PROVIDE SHORING
AND BRACING NECESSARY TO ENSURE THE STABILITY
OF ANY AND ALL PARTS OF THE BUILDING DURING
CONSTRUCTION.
12.REFER TO THE CIVIL ENGINEER'S DRAWINGS FOR
LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITY LINES, LOCATIONS OF
ALL UTILITIES SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE AND THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION IN
EXCAVATION AND TRENCHING TO AVOID INTERCEPTING
EXISTING PIPING OR CONDUITS.
13.CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOW ALL RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE APPROVED SOILS REPORT.
14.LOCATIONS OF ALL UTILITIES SHOWN ON THE
DRAWINGS ARE APPROXIMATE. THE CONTRACTOR IS
RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE LOCATION OF AL
SITE UTILITIES AND TO COORDINATE AND AVOID
CONFLICT IN THE LOCATION SO F NEW UNDERGROUND
AND SITE UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALL
NECESSARY UTILITY FEES, METERS, AND
CONNECTIONS IN HIS BID.
15.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE
OWNER AND DESIGN CONSULTANT SHOULD UNIDENTIFIED
FIELD CONDITIONS BE DISCOVERED.
16.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP AN UP-TO-DATE
RECORD OF "AS BUILT" CONDITIONS OF THE WORK, THE
"AS-BUILT" SET SHALL BE RETURNED TO THE DESIGN
CONSULTANT. THE SET SHALL INDICATE COMPLETELY ALL
ADDITIONS, DELETIONS, CORRECTIONS, AND REVISIONS IN
THE ACTUAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT.
17.ALL GYPSUM BOARD USED AS TILE BACKING IN
TOILET ROOMS SHALL BE WATER RESISTANT.
18.ALL ROOFING MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL
APPLICABLE STANDARDS LISTED IN THE CBC.
19.REQUIRED EXIT DOORS SHALL BE OPENABLE FROM
THE INSIDE WITHOUT THE USE OF A KEY OR ANY SPECIAL
KNOWLEDGE OR EFFORT.
20.REQUIRED EXIT DOORS MUST OPEN OVER A LANDING
NOT MORE THAN 12" BELOW THE THRESHOLD AND THE
DOOR SHALL SWING IN THE DIRECTION OF EXIT TRAVEL.
21.REQUIRED EXIT DOORS SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN
3'-0" IN WIDTH AND 6-8" IN HEIGHT AND NO SINGLE LEAF

FIRE SAFETY NOTES
1.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION FOR THE
PROJECT UNDER CONSTRUCTION PER THE REQUIREMENTS OF
THE LOCAL GOVERNING AGENCIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
PROVIDE AND INSTALL AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND
ALARM SYSTEM INCLUDING ALL ON-SITE FIRE HYDRANTS AND
UNDERGROUND MAINS PER REQUIREMENTS OF LOCAL,
GOVERNING AGENCIES AND ANY IDENTIFIED OWNER INSURING
AGENCIES. SPRINKLER SYSTEM PLANS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO
THE ARCHITECT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
APPLICABLE PLAN CHECKS AND SHALL BE RESUBMITTED TO THE
BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND DESIGN CONSULTANT.WHERE
ENUNCIATOR PANELS, ALARMS, ETC. ARE REQUIRED IN AN

4.RETURN AIR PLENUMS SHALL HAVE NO EXPOSED MATERIALS
WITHIN THEM WITH A FLAME SPREAD RATING OF 26 OR GREATER
OR A SMOKE DEVELOPED RATING OF 50 OR GREATER. ALL WIRING
IN RETURN AIR PLENUMS SHALL BE IN NON COMBUSTIBLE
CONDUIT OR SHALL HAVE APPROVED PLENUM RATING.
TEMPERATURES IN RETURN AIR PLENUMS SHALL BE RESTRICTED
TO A RANGE OF 50 TO 125 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT AND MOISTURE

5.ALL EXPOSED COMBUSTIBLE FRAMING MEMBERS WITHIN A
RETURN AIR PLENUM SHALL BE SHEATHED WITH MIN., ONE LAYER

2" GYPSUM BOARD SECURELY FASTENED AND TAPED (PROVIDE

6.CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
OF TYPE, QUANTITY AND LOCATION AS DETERMINED BY THE FIRE

7.PROVIDE AND INSTALL OUTSIDE GAS SHUTOFF VALVE AND
SIGNAGE IDENTIFYING LOCATIONS OF GAS AND ELECTRICAL
