NOTICE OF PENDING DECISION IS HEREBY GIVEN that the owner of the subject property has submitted an application for a Protected Tree Removal Permit to remove one (1) protected tree. You have the opportunity to comment on the project described below prior to the City making a decision.
A.California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Section 15061(b)(3) the removalof a single protected tree would not adversely change the environment.
B.Healthy Tree Removal Application No. TRH 26-08
Project Description: The Applicant is requesting approval to remove one (1) mature protected Holly Oak tree measuring 30 inches in diameter to accommodate the construction of a new two-story single-family residence. The property is located within the Upper Rancho neighborhood and is subject to review by the Rancho Santa Anita Property Owners Association (RSAPOA). The proposed residence has been reviewed and approved by the Association's Architectural Review Board (ARB). The protected Holly Oak tree is located within the proposed building footprint and cannot be preserved. If approved, the removal will be mitigated by planting two (2) 24-inch box Holly Oak trees on the property. The remaining protected trees will be preserved and protected during construction in accordance with the recommendations of the project's arborist report.
Comment Period: July 15, 2026 to July 29, 2026 at 5:30 PM
Persons wishing to comment on this application may do so by submitting written statements to Planning Services prior to 5:30 p.m. on July 23, 2026. Under this process, no formal hearing is required. A Notice of Decision will be mailed to those residents and property owners who submit written comments on this project or request in writing to be notified of the decision. An appeal of this administrative decis ion may be filed within ten (10) days following the date of the decision with the required application and appeal fee. You may also visit the City's website at www.ArcadiaCA.gov/noticesanddecisions to view this notice, the arborist report related to this application, and the approval/denial letter. City Hall will be closed on Friday, July 10, 2026.
